I am a qualified teacher with specialisms in Spanish, Geography & Irish. I have worked as a teacher in Ireland, Australia and the UK. I teach children the way I want my son to be taught. I try to make colourful resources that will engage and make teachers and students lives easier. I don't always get it right but I'm always learning and striving to. Claddagh Classrooms

Geography Pupil Check-In -/Pupil Voice KS3

After a recent Ofsted inspection our department has come up with a 'Check in System' in for pupils to review how they like learning. This form has worked wonders for us and has allowed us to get to know our pupils, especially our PP pupils (Pupil Premium), SEN & MAP (More Able Pupils) much better. It must be shown that all students are making progress (Especially since the introduction of the Progress 8 scores) From using these forms we have come up with strategies to help students who are not attaining or reaching their target grades and we have initiated intervention strategies. (All which Ofsted love!) Claddagh Classroom

La Comida Rápida Actividades Fast Food Vocabulary Acivities

Two nice simple activities that relates to the topic of Fast Food. Word searches keep my lot occupied for ages! For lower ability groups I find these activities great for vocabulary recognition and for giving students a sense of achievement with tasks before moving them onto written expression tasks. There are other resources relating to this topic in my shop. Enjoy! Claddagh Classrooms. Clipart by Kate Hadfield designs

An Cháisc (Gaeilge) - Easter Irish Display

Simple display cards to get your room and your students in the festive Easter spirit. My students love Easter! (It must be the chocolate!) and the display is nice when surrounded by students work. Alternatively use the activity attached also. I use these as a game first to introduce the vocabulary to my students. They are placed around my room and students are given a list of Easter vocabulary in English. They then have to find the Irish equivalent. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book. Once the lesson is finished they can go onto a display board. Please note this is a .pdf display only.

This is a revision mat for the topic of URÚ in Irish. The mat contains all information needed to revise this piece of grammar. It contains a rhyme to help students remember them and contains all the exceptions.

This resource contains three resources for a lesson in Irish. The first is a Bingo game, using Christmas vocabulary (See my display resource for that vocabulary) The second is a puzzle where students need to orientate themselves through a puzzle. This can be done using directions. (One person is blind folded and they must direct their partner around the puzzle) Or this resource can be used as a simple starter. The third resource is a word search. Each activity focuses oral skills and new vocabulary. It's a lovely way to finish the term off and also a way to keep students engaged in their final lesson.

Carta a Papa Noel - Letter to Santa in Spanish

This resource contains all you need to write a letter in Spanish to Father Christmas. The first activity asks students to make a list of all the things they want for Christmas. (Have dictionaries ready for students who need some extra help). The second activity is matching exercise with all the necessary phrases that students can adapt to help them write their letter. The final activity is writing their letter to Father Christmas. I have also included a writing frame for less able pupils. Feliz Navidad
