There are 5 tasks related to evolution in this pack. Tasks combine use of ICT with Literacy and Science. These tasks involve computer research, comprehension, poetry, mind mapping, arguing similarities and differences and mapping progression of mankind. Most tasks require class or group discussion. Lots of thinking outside the box! Great fun for a few student led lessons.

Discrete grammar lesson on verbs and adverbs and their placement in sentences. PowerPoint gives clear description and examples of adverbs and their function in a sentence. Group activity within PowerPoint to find the verbs and adverbs. Worksheet activity is a cloze passage with LA given words they could use on a separate sheet. To end the lesson have some children share their cloze passages and discuss use of adverbs. LO: To be able to use adverbs to quantify verbs.

Discrete grammar lesson on Contractions. Lesson plan includes YouTube video to watch on screen with your class. Worksheet uses popular song "Call Me Maybe" to explore contractions and expanding the contraction to full words. When I did this lesson with my class we ended with them trying to sing the song with the contractions expanded. Everyone was in stitches laughing! "I threw a wish in the well, do not ask me I will never tell" Gives them an authentic understanding of contractions.

This is a guide of how to Analyse a piece of music in depth using the Musical Elements. It sets out a list of things to listen for/ a series of questions pupils can ask themselves as they listen to something they want to analyse. Terminology may differ across countries - this particular resource was created in Australia. Feel free to alter terminology where necessary. This resource has been particularly useful for training pupils to listen during unstudied works, but can be used for works they have to study for GCSE and A levels as a training exercise for exams etc.

For neurodiverse students, this is a ‘check in’ set of lists to help them stay centred, relax, know what to do next, or organise their thoughts/behaviours when beginning a task set. The first page has a list of suggestions for keeping ‘in check’, the second page is a list of questions that student could ask such as ‘how long do I have to complete this task?’ This could also be helpful for basic executive functioning assistance.

This is a project based on the iconic Jurassic Park franchise to assess students knowledge about cells, DNA and evolution in a fun way. Included is: Slides outlining the project a letter from the Jurassic World creative team (made up by myself to introduce the project) an attached criteria sheet for self, peer and teacher assessment of SKILLS inc. research, teamwork etc. My students always have great fun completing this project and it shows how much they understand and have been able to research and understand about cells, DNA, and evolution.

This resource gives all the basic resources for a project on sustainability. There is a letter inviting students to design a new school that your headteacher wants to build. There is a list of sustainable elements with prices that your students can use to design the school sustainably. There is also a criteria sheet (which was co-created by students) that they can self and peer assess as they go, and you as the teacher can use as well if you desire. This is a great fun way to assess your students understanding of sustainable design practises.
