Fluency & Problems Solving This resource includes differentiated work sheets for adding fractions with the same denominator, different denominators, mixed numbers and improper fractions. Answers are included with each worksheet. There is also a sheet with a few word problems to solve. Easier Worksheet - 12 questions adding fractions with the same and different denominators. Completed examples are included for support. Age Related Worksheet - 20 questions adding fractions with the same and and different denominators, mixed numbers and improper fractions. Some of these are quite challenging! Harder Worksheet - As above but more challenging and adding larger groups of fractions. It is intended that pupils are already secure with converting mixed number and improper fractions as well as simplifying fractions before using these worksheets for adding fractions. This resource complements my Fractions - Add and Subtract which is also available on this site. An engaging presentation which is ideal for Year 6 revision of properties of number. Animated slides include activities where children practice their knowledge and reasoning about numbers, including: Factors, Multiples, Prime, Common Factors, Composite, Square, Cubed and Triangular numbers. Odd and even numbers are also referred to when solving a Carroll Diagram problem at the end of the lesson. Also includes a slide which explains perfect and abundant numbers which can be used as an investigation task. An enjoyable lesson which reinforces previous knowledge about numbers as children approach SATs.

It includes several examples of his work and discusses his techniques and colour palette. Towards the end of the presentation, students are encouraged to recreate Monet's style using watercolor paints and slides include tips and instruction on how to use watercolour paints effectively. This resource may also be used to support biography writing as part of an English/Art theme.

Essential mathematical vocabulary is revised including: equivalent fractions, common multiple, common denominator, numerator and denominator. Children are given opportunities to practice skills and explain their reasoning through short tasks and talk partner activities. This powerpoint revises the rules for changing direct speech to reported speech and vice versa. The focus is on what changes i.e. inverted commas, pronouns and verb tenses. This is ideal for introducing the names of different verb tenses to Years 5 and 6 and gives the opportunity for pupils to practice changing speech from direct to reported as well as identifying the verb tenses. Some of the example sentences are based on the book 'Street Child' and the resource was created as part of a unit writing a newspaper report. However - it can be used as a stand alone lesson.
