Giggle Poetry Complete Lesson
This lesson is a very straightforward, easy-to-teach lesson that students will enjoy. The lesson is based around three funny school poems taken from the excellent website gigglepoetry.com.
The lesson consists of:
• Funny caption starter
• Lesson objectives
• Images from the poems (students must try and work out what the poem will be about)
• Poems
• Evaluation of the poems (did any student guess close to the poem from the image?)
• Prompt to write their own funny poem and share at the end

The Zombie Apocalypse - or the Walking Dead
Cities lie abandoned. The streets are no longer safe as the K11 virus has spread and infected large numbers of the population. You and a small group of survivors have made it out of the city and have taken refuge in an abandoned farmhouse. You have to hold out against the ‘zombie-like’ hordes for 7 days until help arrives. Crocodile Comparison - Non-Fiction
A very simple but engaging lesson based on two non-fiction texts involving crocodile attacks in Australia. The aim of the lesson is for students to identify explicit information from each text then do a comparison between them.
Lesson includes, Power Point slide, articles and a croc writing sheet.
There's nothing flashy or complicated about this lesson at all! It is however, simple and straight-forward and students will enjoy the texts. Sometimes that's all you need.
