There are two lessons here on large urban areas/cities. Both are carefully planned and suited for a GCSE group however, they can be easily adapted for an AS group. One of the lesson is on mega cities; focusing on the definition, distribution and pros and cons of mega cities. The other lesson is a comparison of three different groups of cities - mega cities, primate cities and world cities. This lesson explores the characteristics of all three types of cities an then uses some clever activities to challenge students to explain the differences between them.
This is a GCSE lesson on the stages of urbanisation. The lesson focuses on how cities change overtime. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson meets the requirements of the new GCSE specifications. It follows specifically the Edexcel B specification.

3. The lesson covers the stages of urbanisation from industrialisation to urban regeneration and re-urbanisation.
4. The lesson uses the Clarke-Fisher model to linked the stages of urbanisation with development. It lays the foundation for studying the Clarke-Fisher model in later lessons.
5. The lesson allows students to explore how land uses and urban functions has changed overtime.
This is one of the most active and destructive hurricane season in the Atlantic Ocean area on records. Thousands of people (including British nationals) have been affected by hurricanes this hurricane season. There is never a better opportunity to teach about hurricanes whether or not it's on your LS for T1.
Here we have three (3) lessons that explore the science behind hurricane formation, an analysis of the social and economic impact of hurricanes and finally a look at ways hurricanes can be managed to minimise the loss of lives.

This is an introductory lesson on Africa. The learning is focus on the location and key features of Africa and is the first in a series of lessons on Africa. It is suitable for KS3 students but teachers can easily adapt it for GCSE group. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. All the resources for teaching the lesson are included. The ppt has everything from starter to plenary including all the teaching resources for the lesson. Download and just teach!
2. The lesson starts by looking at the location of Africa from different perspectives. It then develops with students identifying and locating some amazing features of Africa using maps and atlases. There is a quiz at the end of the lesson that can be used to monitor progress.
3. The lesson is mainly a map skills lesson so students will be engage in practical way. There are opportunities though for group discussions.
4. There are slides with the answers to the question posed in the lesson which will help with self assessment.
This is an introduction lesson to coastal studies. It’s ideal for the first lesson of the term with a KS3 or GCSE group (low ability in particular). Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson covers the definition and identification of key features at the coast. It also covers examples of human uses of the coast and why it is important to learn about coasts in geography.
2. All the resources for teaching the lesson are included. The ppt has everything from starter to plenary including all the geography resources for active learning. Just download and teach!
3. The lesson has a variety of geographic and differentiated learning resources; photos (including aerial photos), an OS map, factsheets, keyword banks and model answers.
4. Key skills that students will use are photo analysis (including analysing photos at oblique angles), grid reference, compass skills and written description skills.
There are three (3) lessons on coasts included in this bundle.
One lesson is an introduction lesson on coasts focusing on the features by the coast and the importance of learning about it in schools.
The other lesson is on wave and tide formation including a look at the features of a wave.
The final lesson is on constructive and destructive waves (including swash and backwash); how they compare and how the affect the coasts differently.

There are three lessons in this bundle on floods.
1. One lesson covers the nature and causes and effects of floods.
2. The other lesson covers the flood defences focusing on hard and soft engineering solutions and a case study on the Thames Barrier. This is a differentiated lesson for lower ability group.
3. The final lesson is also on flood management however, this lesson is differentiated for a higher ability group or a GCSE group. The key ideas of the 3ps are included in this lesson as well.
This is a GCSE lesson on sustainable cities/eco-cities. The lesson focus is on how mega cities and other large cities are trying to be more sustainable. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson meets the requirements of the new GCSE specifications. It follows specifically the Edexcel B specification.

3. The lesson covers the characteristics of eco-cities/sustainable cities.
4. The lesson identifies strategies that are now being used to make cities sustainable.

This is a lesson designed for a KS3 group however, it can be used for a GCSE group as well. The lesson introduce learners to the unequal development levels around the world. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The key concepts introduced are features of HICs/LICs, unequal development and the Brandt line.
2. The key skills covered in this lesson are source analysis (video clips), map work and data analysis.

4. The lesson is differentiated for both low ability and high ability students. There are challenged tasks as well as support resources for low ability students.
There are three (3) lessons in this bundle about cities.
The first lesson is on mega cities. It looks on the definitions of mega cities, their locations, causes and effects of their growth.
The second lesson is on primate cities and world cities. It compares primate cities ad world cities with mega cities.
The third lesson is on sustainable cities. It looks the strategies being used across the world to make cities sustainable.

This is a GCSE lesson on the different types of erosion. The lesson focuses on how waves cause the four types erosion along coastlines. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson meets the requirements of the new GCSE specifications. It follows specifically the Edexcel B specification. However, the lesson can be easily adapted for a year 9 group.

This is a KS3 lesson on the mercalli scale and the magnitude scale (richter scale) however, it is appropriate for a GCSE group as well. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is a KS3 lesson on the deforestation in tropical rainforests however, this can be easily adapted to a KS4 group. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is an 2 part A-level lesson on population change by natural increase. It is suitable for all specification but specifically the AQA A-level and Cambridge International specs. Key facts about the lesson are:
