This resource covers the the challenges for the planet section of unit 1 of the Edexcel Geography A course. Next summer is the last sitting of this exam. The resource is versatile; it can be used as a series of revision activities, a HW resource pack , intervention resources or as a series of recap and reinforcing content lessons. There is a video clip in the lesson, a word cloud activity, a numeracy activity, a venn diagram task and a practice question.

A GCSE lesson on the growth of urbanisation worldwide. The lesson explores how and why urbanisation has increased in different parts of the world since 1980. Key facts about the lesson are: 1. Just download and teach! 3. The lesson starts by defining urbanisation and proceeds to analyse statistics about changing rates of urbanisation worldwide. The lesson then moves on to look at reasons for different rates of urbanisation between LICs, MICs and HICs. Finally there is a past paper question to check students learning before the plenary. 4. The lesson includes key numeracy and graphicacy skills - there are activities for drawing bar charts and using proportions. These are both key elements of all the new GCSE specifications. 5. There are also challenge activities throughout the lesson to stretch students learning.
