The Distribution of Tropical Storms (created for 9-1 AQA)
This is a lesson PPT on the distribution of Tropical storms. Teaching ideas were taken from the AQA website and resource ideas. Exam question from the SAMS resources.
Coasts Revision Booklet
This resource was created to look at the Coasts topic for the WJEC specification (Legacy). It is suitable for other exam boards and will apply to the new new specifications.
The booklet is 10 pages long and includes coastal process of erosion, transport and deposition. The booklet also inludes landforms and features that are fond at the coast. A case study on the Holderness coast is included as well as QR codes and a range of videos to support student's revision.
Year 12 Urbanisation workbook (OCR Legacy Could be used for New Spec).
This is a work booklet that was created for a year 12 class to use and work through independently at home. Student read the information and answer the questions. Features an extended case study on urbanisation and change in Glasgow. 38 page learning booklet.
Population and distribution of major cities in the UK (AQA 9-1)
This lesson looks at an overview of major cities in the UK. Map skills included, students create a bar graph and look at population density and distribution in the UK. It features a section from the new AQA 9-1 Geography specification.
The causes of Flooding (KS3)
This lesson looks at the main causes causes of flooding as well as some of the damage that can be caused by flooding. Students complete an information hunt on the causes of flooding, as well as a literacy task on flooding. There are a range of collaborative activities throughout. Students finish by categorising the damage caused flooding into social, economic and environmental.
Included are the powerpoint ( Low ability version too!) as well as all work sheets needed for the lesson, SEN worksheets also included.
Waterfalls (KS3)
This lesson looks at what waterfalls are, and how they are formed. The lesson uses High Force as and example.
There is a low ability version of the lesson included as well as an A3 worksheet with all activities on.
