This is a full 1 hour KS3 lesson that investigates the human and physical geography of Russia. The lesson is the fourth lesson of a unit on natural resources and energy, though it could easily be adapted to other themes or used as a standalone lesson on the country itself. Learning Outcome 1 – ‘I understand the physical and human geography of Russia and why it is considered a global power.’ This lesson covers the following themes: - Physical and human geography of Russia - Atlas work - Superpowers - Russia’s future place in the world Ease of use is the aim, so the lesson includes a compact presentation with full instructions and guidance in the notes section below each slide, it also includes labelled, organised, challenge / extension handouts with printing instructions and is of course, proof read. This is a 2-3 hour A-Level lesson that investigates how we measure globalisation to A-Level and IB DP students, it is not A-Level exam board specific though the geography is universal and can be easily tailored. The lesson is the first in a unit on Globalisation and contains 1 x presentation, 1 x 7 page handout, 1 x KOF Press Release. The handout contains all the figures and weighting information your students need. Key Question – ‘How Does Globalisation Vary Spatially?’ This lesson covers the following themes: - A recap on globalisation - A broken down explanation of the component parts of the KOF Index - Task requiring the students to use the ranking. - An evaluation of the effectiveness of the KOF Index. - An exam style question. The lesson is the second in a unit on Globalisation. Key Question – ‘How Does Globalisation Vary Spatially?’ This lesson covers the following themes: What are global superpowers? What is their economic, geopolitical and cultural influence? What are two named examples of global superpowers? How do they differ?
