A resource which compares the set work of Wicked to 2 other pieces in preparation for the essay question (question 9). The scores for the unfamiliar pieces are attached. The links to audio are on the pp along with ideas and plans for each of the 2 questions. This could take 2 lessons (along with writing the essays) or be the preparation for an assessment or homework.
There is differentiated success criteria which shows students how to access higher bands.
A set of written summaries and over 15 questions per set work which are differentiated into grade 7,8,9. All 8 set works have their own sheet.
All of the answers can be found by the students in the text but for some grade 8/9 questions the answers must be inferred or they must use their analysis skills to find the full answer.
All answers are provided on a seperate document.

This series of 5 or more lessons aims to analyse the full movement of the Bach set work for Edexcel GCSE Music. All powerpoints attached have differentiated success criteria and answers for all questions which ask students to analyse different features. The series of lessons begins with context of Bach and the Baroque period and then focuses on analysing through playing. There are also extended question (4/5 marks) added into the powerpoints to test learning as you go.
There is also a Sibelius 6 files (please ask if you would like this converting lower) with all of the instrumental parts for section A (you can then use this as a backing track to perform to and change the tempo where necessary, all parts can then be transposed and printed as you require for your class).

A full scheme of learning focusing on the Eduqas GCSE Music Chamber Music strand. This scheme of learning has differentiated tasks and worksheets throughout as well as success criteria for all homework. All resources are attached.
It combines theoretical knowledge with composition ideas and listening tasks.
Based on the Eduqas GCSE Music specification - a detailed lesson activity that focuses on recognising classical structures through listening and using the score. This then develops into understanding how contrast is achieved in classical structures through analysis of each piece. Scores and a worksheet are attached.

A lesson and homework based on unfamiliar listening and examination technique. There is also an example of a 10 mark extended answer with plan for each musical element to help students pinpoint what to write about.
All sections of the lesson have differentiated success criteria, as does the homework task.
A series of 3 lessons which focus on the key aspects (textures and other musical features) which can be found in Baroque and Classical Music. There is an element of theoretical knowledge and then putting these ideas into practice through composition. The final lesson asks students to react to feedback for either the Baroque or Classical style they have composed. All tasks are differentiated with success criteria and worksheets are attached so students can save their notes for composition and revision.
Suitable for any GCSE board (but based on the Eduqas specification). This resource is fully differentiated with grade and through the element of choice for the students and introduces them to the 3 main periods of Western classical music - Baroque, Classical and Romantic.
The learning journey can be used for at least 2 lessons (and as part of a homework task) and allows the teacher to be facilitator in the lesson as all resources and answers are attached.
The attached PP also encourages students to reflect on their progress and choose a task which suits this.
