Starting with this speech (Act 1 Scene 5 ‘The raven himself is hoarse’) explain how far you think Shakespeare presents Lady Macbeth as a powerful woman.Write about: • how Shakespeare presents Lady Macbeth in this speech • how Shakespeare presents Lady Macbeth in the play as a whole. Includes a grade 7 version and a grade 8 version for comparison. The grade 8 version has a more thoughtful introduction and conclusion and creates more of a debate. The PowerPoint contains colour coded annotations to showcase a deliberate and easy to imitate method for helping students structure a successful response. Also contains a grade 9 response analysing Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s marriage.

A pack of 4 sheets which describe each section of the Eduqas GCSE Set Work Since You Been Gone. All features of the set works are included so students can annotate their scores. There is also a short test (with answers) to be completed after each sheet is completed so you can test their understanding. Each sheet has graded success criteria as well as extra tasks e.g. notating chord patterns to ensure students can apply their knowledge.

Resources to support students with a film music composition taking minimum of 5 lessons (1x motif composition, 1x intro, 1x build up, 1x climax and 1x resolution). 3 different composition briefs are provided which are split into introduction, build-up, climax and resolution so students can ensure structure to their composition. There is also an introduction to motifs (garageband lesson 1) and how to develop their use. The planning sheet provides key musical devices which should be defined on the sheet (using the planning instructions powerpoint which has musical examples and audio embedded) and describes the choice students have for each section. Differentiation is clear on the powerpoint and differentiates by the use of composition device. This has been created for KS3 but could also support GCSE students beginning to compose film ideas. Cards linking to listening, appraising or understanding music which can be used to push the best students when completing a task. They should select a card (which are general so can suit any scheme of work) and complete it on the graffiti sheet provided. Often this makes students think differently or makes them extend their other musical skills other than simply performance or composition.

A series of 4 lessons which explores the rooms of the Titanic through music. Students are introduced to the upper deck, casino, engine room and ballroom for which they must create the music. There are differentiated success criteria (4 levels of differentiation) and a glossary describing all of the music terminology in the success criteria. Writing frame for analysing Ignorance and Want extract in Stave 3 of A Christmas Carol for AQA 1-9. The basic PowerPoint includes 2 model examples to explore, compare and annotate.

A worksheet and PowerPoint to support the study of the character of Eva Smith in An Inspector Calls. Students read the 32 carefully selected quotations about Eva Smith and work out who said each one. They can plot the utterances into a table to enable further analysis. Also includes a worksheet examining who is responsible for her death and an essay planning sheet with and without answers. The PowerPoint then encourages students to create a revision page on Eva by explaining what the key quotations reveal. Students look at a grade 5/6 full response on Eva. Students then write a model paragraph. A cloze activity based around selecting word choices for effect and then commenting on the word choices. Students then listen to the song and compare their word choices with the original.
