The 3 pages of nitrogen cycle questions can be used as a starter, plenary or a homework. I have used as quick revision. (Answers are included) The help sheet shows a typical revision card for students which you can show and either use, or get them to make one of their own.

This ppt covers the main food groups, and the tests required to test for proteins, fats, starch and sugars. There are excellent sheets especially for KS3 students or GCSE SEN/Foundation students. They are fill in the gaps, draw diagrams and enter results. The sheets follow the ppt and can be used with or without the presentation. I have used them with KS3 classes and with GCSE SEN/Foundation classes, as easy to follow, understand and complete. Sheets can be stuck into their books at the end of the lesson.

It includes clinistix, blood glucose testing and blood glucose monitoring devices. The worksheets include a revision card, a quick test and an activity. This resource works really well when students carry out the Urine stick test practical. An important fil-in help sheet is included for the practical.

GCSE Biology - Endangered species (SEN / Foundation)

A map and information about endangered species. Students have to make a poster showing all the endangered animals on the map. I had to bring up a map of the world whilst doing this activity as many are unaware where most places are. My SEN group worked really well in groups, discussing, working as a team, and producing a nice resource which can be put up showing students work, and also they get to understand about endangered species. I then set them a homework to chose one animal and tell me why it is endangered. Keywords can be put on the board to help.

These power points were made for my KS3 students but I also used it with my GCSE foundation students to help them understand how to draw a correct scientific Table and when to use a bar graph and when to use a line graph. It also explains the difference between independent and dependent variables. These power points explains how to compose a Good Table (headings, columns, anomalies, averages) and how to plot the correct graph. It concentrates on bar graphs and line graphs, independent and dependent variables. Actual examples shown and finishes with a task for the students as a plenary. Also included are help sheets for table and graph drawing which can be stuck in the front of students books as a reminder. (I print both and print as A5 help sheets.
