Edexcel iGCSE Physics Circuit components card sort

This is an activity which is specifically designed for Edexcel iGCSE Physics (Single Science) specification. This worksheet covers circuit components. Here’s one way they can be used: Print packs 1 and 2 on separate sheets (laminate to prevent cards from being damaged if you have a laminator) Cut out the cards (keep packs 1 and 2 separate) Shuffle the cards and spread them out in front of you Select the start card and match the end to the beginning of another card Repeat until you have used all cards hint- pack 2 is much harder as you have to know the function of each component!

Edexcel iGCSE Physics Electricity Equations

This is a worksheet which is specifically designed for Edexcel iGCSE Physics (Single Science) specification. This worksheet covers electricity equations including learning how to respond to exam style questions within the topic electricity. POINTS PURSUIT is a gamified revision strategy that uses a points system to rank task difficulty and motivate students! Questions start off as low demand at the top and then progressively increase in difficulty as students move down the sheet – but that doesn’t mean you have to start at the top! Many students start at the bottom to gain the most points and then work their way up the sheet as an effective strategy also!

AQA - PMM - Measuring the density of objects Required Practical

(0)
This is a revision mat for AQA Combined Science Paper 1. Specifically looking at the topic Particle Model of Matter. This worksheet targets the density required practical, helping students to practice density calculations and work on their methods to calculate the density of liquids, regularly shaped solids and irregularly shaped solids. AQA - Atomic Structure (Radiation) Decay Equation Dominoes

(0)
This is a revision activity for AQA Combined and Triple Science Physics Paper 1. Specifically looking at Decay equations within the topic Atomic Structure (Radiation). This is a domino style activity where students will make a chain of cards with their answer from the previous card leading directly onto their next question. Students should have a strong understanding of how alpha and beta decay will affect the atomic number and atomic mass before attempting this activity. I recommend laminating the cards and storing in ‘packs’ to be reused time and time again

Never miss a practical again with this AQA Triple Science Required Practical Checklist! Inside you’ll find a 6 page checklist which covers: Required practicals separated by subject and then by topic The specification descriptors of each required practical Complete list of topics for each subject that DO NOT contain a required practical 2 pages of ‘other’ practicals and demonstrations that are not technically required but the exam board could ask you about anyway!

AQA - Particle Model of Matter - SHC and SLH calculations

This revision mat covers the AQA combined science Specific Heat Capacity and Specific Latent Heat calculations and was designed for use in end of year revision for year 10 students but could easily be used for higher ability year 9s. POINTS PURSUIT is a gamified revision strategy that can be integrated with any rewards system of your choosing and is a nice way to increase competition. Questions start off as low demand at the top and then progressively increase in difficulty as students move down the sheet - please note that I have used this with higher ability classes and many students have started at the bottom to gain the most points and then worked their way up the sheet as an effective strategy. I usually complete a sheet under a visualiser and have students swap sheets and coloured pens then follow along to reduce my marking :)

Naming formulae - PUZZLE SQUARES

(0)
This resource has been designed as a puzzle for students to practice naming compounds and is ideal for a group or individual task. Print one sheet per A4 page (one sided) and cut out the squares. Shuffle the squares and have students match the sides of the squares until all 15 cards have been used. There is more than one way to complete this puzzle. High ability students should be able to use all 15 cards. For lower ability students, remove the 2 end columns indicated on the sheet so that they complete the puzzle with 9 cards. A good extension would then be to challenge students to fill in the missing halves remaining at the ends of the puzzle.
