List of interesting idioms of more able students. They first need to work out the literal meaning of these phrases and then find out the meaning or an equivalent idiom in English. I matched this exercize to the topic Hobbies and Free Time, but of course it can go with any other topic.

I got my 7th grade class to work on this recipe and particularly on verbs and then they brought in the ingredients and they baked the cake themselves, following the instructions in French. They still talk about it!

Work on 2 songs about friendship. The first one, 'Les Copains d'abord', by Brassens, is available on YouTube. The second, by Bénabar is harder to find on the net so I downloaded it. In this lesson, I worked in particular on familiar and colloquial language.

This is a relatively recent song by Yannick Noah. I used it as a gap-filling listening activity. I'm sure it can be better exploited, so I welcome any ideas/improvements!
