ITALIAN FUTURE TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE

BEGINNER ITALIAN INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN HIGH-FREQUENCY ITALIAN VERBS FUTURE TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for advanced beginner Italian into intermediate Italian students who are getting to grips with conjugation in Italian, building their Italian verb vocabulary, and beginning to work with more complex texts, including a range of tenses. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognise and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written Italian is accurate, and that their understanding of Italian across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and English-Italian Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Italian across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Italian Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key Try this free Italian conjugation workbook sampler: ITALIAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/italian-conjugation-practice-sampler-12507124 The product is non-editable in a zipped format. FRENCH CLOTHES FLASHCARDS POSTERS

(0)
PRIMARY FRENCH IMMERSION FRENCH CLOTHES FLASHCARDS POSTERS instant introduction to 20 clothes items in French. The fashcards / posters also give the learning environment a fabulous*** French*** look and feel, promoting French as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of your learners. They also help learners familiarise themselves with both the ‘look’ of French words, and how sounds are represented in the written form. The target language features singular and plural nouns with the indefinite / partitive article, some with colour and adjectival agreement, which is a great opportunity to begin to compare French to other languages learners may speak or know. Looking at language, and the ways it works, either similarly to, or differently from, other languages, helps learners become implicitly aware of linguistic concepts, and how adjectives may change according to gender and number. This is really useful for both current and later learning. It doesn’t matter if some of the items don’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in French, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates and near-cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in French. They also help learners begin to work out the meaning of new and unknown words from visual clues or prompts. The 20 nouns are: cap * coat * dress * glasses * gloves * hat * jacket * jeans * jersey / jumper / pullover * scarf * schoolbag / rucksack * shirt * shoes * skirt * sneakers / trainers * socks * sunglasses * T-shirt * tie * trousers There are four poster headers: les vêtements, Qu’est-ce que tu portes ?, Qu’est-ce que tu as ? and Qu-est-ce que c’est ? The labels/answers correspond to the question format. This really does help to promote speaking in the classroom, and I often use the posters for quick speaking refreshers at various points in an individual lesson, or across a series of lessons, really getting the most out of the display. Use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. ITALIAN VERBS BOOK #1

(0)
INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN ADVANCED ITALIAN BEGINNER ITALIAN 500 high-frequency Italian verbs, listed alphabetically both Italian-English and English-Italian - a great learning support resource for intermediate Italian moving into advanced level Italian students, and useful also for advanced beginner Italian students, providing a language road map with learning goals, outlining the verbs they should ideally know by a specific stage in their learning. There are 48 pages in the book, and all 500 verbs are listed alphabetically Italian-English and English-Italian. There’s also a first person conjugation reference in the present, perfect and imperfect tense, which is really useful for checking which verbs take essere in the perfect tense, and for the past participle. As students become more competent in conjugation, the first person reference enables them to predict accurately other forms of the verbs. I use the reference book for quick vocabulary quizzes too - either I or a nominated student shouts out an Italian or English verb, with teams giving the corresponding Italian or English verb - I’ve found this is a really successful way of avoiding more formal vocabulary tests, while still providing students with frequent opportunity to refresh and embed essential Italian vocabulary. The verbs are useful for engaging with the following topics and themes: youth, identity & lifestyle fashion culture, customs and traditions relationships and family technology and social media sport, health and fitness free time, hobbies and interests entertainment and leisure food and drink local, national & international global areas of interest transport holidays, tourism and travel environment, pollution, recycling and climate social issues school, college, current and future study work experience, skills and personal qualities employment, ambitions and career plans Have a browse in my store for more Italian vocabulary reference books, and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning resources, with dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies too! The license for purchase is a single-user only license. Please read the Terms of Use. Bingo games are perfect for language learning, and they’re really easy to differentiate. All my students, regardless of age, find playing the games a great way of consolidating their Spanish vocabulary, and developing their Spanish language skills in general - bingo is absolutely perfect for speaking, listening, reading, writing and spelling. This set includes 100 differentiated bingo grids and 40 calling cards - 20 in Spanish, and 20 in English - I always play with English calling cards too, as I’ve found it’s a really great way of further consolidating vocabulary - students have to focus carefully on the language ‘switch’, and translate what they hear really quickly. It’s definitely useful to have calling cards, so that you can keep track of what you’re calling out, and it also lets students be the bingo caller too, meaning they can play entirely independently of the teacher. There are twelve Spanish vegetables in masculine, feminine, singular & plural in this set: the mushrooms the cauliflower thee carrots the lettuce the cucumber the tomato the cabbage the potatoes the garlic the broccoli the peas the onions I differentiate my bingo games by using picture-only cards, which are great for general vocabulary consolidation and recall, and listening skills. There are 40 9-square grids in total, and there’s a set of color (which I sometimes laminate so that I can just get them out whenever I need to - make sure students have wipe-clean pens on their tables!). I’ve also included the same grids in black and white - simply print these out. I sometimes give out pages with four grids on, and let students choose which order they play the grids in - they have multiple pages - or sometimes, I get the students to cut out the grids, place them in a small bowl or similar on tables and they then randomly choose grids - depending on the size of your class, you will definitely have several winners per game. The grids are designed for all the squares to be crossed off in order to win the game. I also use word-only grids to help students focus more on their reading skills, so I’ve included 40 Spanish word-only 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages). There are 20 mixed word and picture grids are ideal for additional challenge and differentiation. FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE

(0)
FSL FLE BEGINNER FRENCH INTERMEDIATE FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATION 25 high-frequency reflexive verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys. This ten-page workbook is really popular with my students - they like to work independently, practicing and revising how to conjugate French reflexive verbs - they can be quite tricky, particularly for students whose first language does not have a similar reflexive verb group. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. Students do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation, with those with English as a first language for example frequently say je suis me brosser for I am brushing or similarly je fais me brosser for I do brush. There is the additional issue of the relevant reflexive pronoun, and its location in relation to the subject pronoun and verb. I’ve found that this kind of conjugation drills workbook really helps students to recognize and predict conjugation patterns. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in French across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in French. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key Try this free sampler to see if this kind of activity would work well for your students: FRENCH CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-conjugation-practice-sampler-12233532 Have a browse in my store for more French grammar activities, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! FRENCH RE VERBS PRESENT TENSE

KS3 FRENCH GCSE FRENCH KS4 FRENCH PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 FRENCH -RE VERBS 150 conjugations, 3 challenges, answer key My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for KS3 French students. The workbooks focus on the mechanics of conjugation, rather than usage, and I’ve found that when my students are able to provide the correct conjugation very quickly, and out of a specific context, they feel really confident that their conjugation skills are developing well. It’s useful to remind them of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example, students whose first language is English do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation in both languages, and I frequently see attempts such as je suis mettre for I am putting or similarly je fais répondre for I do answer. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key Try this free sampler to see if this kind of activity would work well for your students: FRENCH CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-conjugation-practice-sampler-12233532 The product is non-editable in a zipped format. There are twelve Spanish fruits in masculine, feminine, singular & plural in this set: the green apple the lemon the oranges the peach the raspberries the pineapple the kiwi the pear the bananas the green grapes the strawberry the watermelon I differentiate my bingo games by using picture-only cards, which are great for general vocabulary consolidation and recall, and listening skills. The tenses are present tense (Präsens) perfect tense (Perfekt) imperfect tense (Präteritum) featuring 25 high-frequency regular German verbs, 150 conjugations in each workbook, 450 conjugations in total, answer keys and verb lists ideal for advanced KS3 German students who are beginning to work with compound sentences and longer texts, and KS4 German students who are working with more complex language and texts, including a range of tenses. The workbooks focus on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage, but I definitely find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example, with the German present tense, I encourage students to look for patterns across all the verbs, such as the singular pronouns, including the pronoun man form being identical, pointing out also that man is commonly used in German, often also meaning we, unlike the pronoun one in English. Students do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation, and with those whose first language is English, I frequently see attempts such as ich bin machen for I am doing / making or similarly ich mache arbeiten for I do work. I refer frequently the difference in usage between English and German, and this is important particularly when explaining when and in which contexts to use the simple present and the continuous / progressive present tense. Each set has the following structure: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of German conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. Students also note down any new verbs they discover, which enables them to build up a really sound verb vocabulary bank. We also use this to guide our whole-group discussions about conjugation and German grammar, and learning and progress in general - this is a really successful and popular activity. answer key: there are 6 pages in the answer key book - for me, answer keys are an essential and integral part of learning with these kinds of workbooks - they give my students an additional opportunity to engage with language, they certainly help them develop more independence in their learning, and they genuinely enjoy ‘correcting’ their own, and especially each other’s work. Have a browse in my store for more German conjugation and grammar activities, and a wide range of other German teaching and learning resources, with dollar, deals, special offer bundles and lots of freebies - I’ve included a couple here for you to try.
