It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. These Italian animals display posters / flashcards create a fabulous Italian look and feel in the learning environment. I’ve found that this also helps promote Italian as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of beginner learners of Italian. They introduce learners to a range of animals in Italian from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarise themselves with how*** Italian*** words ‘look’, and how sounds are represented in the written form. There are 20 animals using the masculine and feminine indefinite article, which again is a great opportunity to begin to compare Italian to English. I’ve chosen a couple of insects and birds, as well as animals that feature in very popular stories, such as orso and lupo. Looking at language, and the ways it works, either similarly to, or differently from their first language, helps learners become implicitly aware of linguistic concepts in both languages, which I’ve found to be really useful for both current and later learning. The animals are: a bear a bee a bird a butterfly a cat a dog a fish a fox a frog a horse a kangaroo a monkey a mouse an owl a parrot a rabbit a spider a squirrel a turtle / tortoise a wolf Use them as flashcards to introduce and practice language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. There are two sets of 20 9.5x11 (A4) portrait posters, each with a different background for you to choose from: Italian flag or animal footprint, so 40 flashcards / posters in total. I always laminate my posters / flashcards as they hang a lot better, are easier to manipulate as flashcards, and definitely last in great condition for years. They are copyright, all rights reserved. They may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. These 60 task cards are perfect for developing French language skills in general, as well as for practicing and revising how to tell time in French - there are 60 cards, divided into two sets of 30 questions, full answer key and a recording sheet. The cards have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling, and really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. The questions are a straightforward introduction to o’clock and half past the hour - I generally work with numbers quite quickly with my beginner language students, and move on to task card activities as soon as I can, so that they can develop independent and collaborative learning skills. There are two questions:Quelle heure est-il ? with a particular clock face, and students write the response on their recording sheet or in their workbooks. The second question is Vrai ou faux ? and students write either vrai or faux - where the answer is faux, remind students to write the correct time for additional consolidation. The cards are numbered 1-60 in words, so students should recap those numbers before they work with the challenge cards. The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language and time creatively and practically too, which is an essential element of successful language learning. The set comprises the following non-editable files: 60 question cards, 6 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper: laminate if possible, they are more learner-friendly, and last for years 2-page answer recording sheet - I tend to use recording sheets for more formal assessment purposes, and have my students use their class workbooks to note their answers when we’re using the cards as a more general learning activity 2-page answer key - answer keys are an integral element to the learning activity. They offer students and additional opportunity to engage with language, and develop more independence in their learning. ADVANCED GERMAN A LEVEL GERMAN FUTURE PERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE The product is non-editable in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. 25 high-frequency German separable verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for advanced German students who have a sound understanding of conjugation and tense in German, are working regularly with the notion of a range of tenses and mood in German, and have a solid grasp of verbs that are conjugated with either haben or sein in the relevant tenses. It’s actually really useful to introduce the future perfect tense in German fairly closely with the conditional perfect tense, as the patterns are identical, other than the auxiliary tense, and it allows students to compare and contrast the tenses, and to practise both fairly simultaneously - in my experience, students do not confuse or mix up the tenses when they’re learning and using them together… The focus is on common separable prefixes such as ab, an, aus, ein, um and zu. Prefixes such as entlang and entgegen are not included in this particular collection of verbs. The resource has the following structure: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of German conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. Students also note down any new verbs they discover, which enables them to build up a really sound verb vocabulary bank. answer key, ideal for independent learning VIELEN DANK UND VIEL SPAß BEIM KONJUGIEREN!

The focus is on common separable prefixes such as***ab, an, aus, ein, um*** and zu. Grammar books are not consistent with grammatical terminology, so in this context, the conditional perfect is I would have opened or I would have got up for example. I’ve used hätte & past participle or wäre & past participle as ich würde aufgemacht haben or ich würde aufgestanden sein are no longer commonly used in the way that ich hätte aufgemacht or ich wäre aufgestanden are for example. The conjugation is structured in the same way as the Konjunktiv II Plusquamperfekt, which is often called the pluperfect subjunctive in English grammatical terminology, though of course, the usage is different. The cards have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling, and really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. There’s also a question card template for students to apply language creatively and practically, which is an essential aspect of successful language learning, and is also a really popular activity with my students. Task cards are really versatile too - we use them not only when we’re focusing on the target vocabulary, but throughout the year for sub lessons, as entrance and exit tickets, refreshers and free-choice learning. The goal is not simply to learn and practice how to count in French, but also to enjoy working with language, and to feel confident about doing so. The questions range in complexity and challenge, ensuring a scaffolded learning experience for students. All the questions are in French, including a range of French math language. Students may not necessarily engage with that at this stage of their learning, so I use math symbols as visual clues and prompts, enabling students to infer meaning from context. This is a key language learning skill in general, which is important for students to develop as quickly as possible. The resource comprises the following non-editable files in a zipped format: 36 differentiated question cards 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. BEGINNER SPANISH INTERMEDIATE SPANISH ADVANCED SPANISH SPANISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES FLAGS LABEL & COLOR Spanish-speaking countries, capital cities and flags label and color worksheets provide great learning opportunities for any appropriate age group, at any time of the school year, and are definitely the perfect activity for consolidating knowledge of these countries and flags - students definitely really enjoy testing their memory and recreating the flags in color. Students can develop their Spanish language skills, as well as their knowledge of both the Spanish-speaking and wider world, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There are 21 countries where Spanish is an official language, and I’ve also included three countries where Spanish is very widely spoken: Gibraltar, Andorra and the USA. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the games help them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of Los países hispanohablantes. There is a country, capital city and flag reference list of all countries and capitals, which students find useful to read through before working on the sheets - I laminate these, because they last for years - one list per small group of 5-6 students is sufficient. It can also be used as a year-round reference resource, which students can file in their workbooks or learning folders. There are four sets of worksheets, each with two pages: Set 1: color flags, students label with country and capital city Set 2: blank flags, students label country and capital city, and color the flags Set 3: blank flags, country is given, students label capital city, and color the flags Set 4: blank flags, capital city is given, students label country, and color the flags Have a browse in my store for more Spanish-speaking countries activities, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning materials, with dollar deals, special offer bundles and lots of freebies. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. 25 high-frequency German verbs in the imperfect tense. The quick conjugations have always been really popular with my students, who find them a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate essential verbs in German. I’ve used them in a range of contexts too, such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. I give my students regular opportunities to work through the same conjugations until they feel confident about how German conjugation ‘works’, and are able to recognize patterns and so predict conjugation accurately. The workbook is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. 34-page written recall workbook 400 French adjectives, English-French, with two written recall challenges. My students find the written recall challenges really useful throughout the school year, and particularly as we approach exam time - they generally like to work at their own pace, either in class time or at home. Students can challenge themselves multiple times, simply by covering over previous responses, which means we’re able to get a lot of use from a single book, saving both prep time and paper. We also use the book for quick vocabulary quizzes at frequent and regular intervals - I or a nominate student simply shout out the French or English adjectives, the first team to shout out the correct answer wins a point - it’s a great no-prep quiz for vocabulary recall practice and revision, and just as effective as more formal vocabulary assessment or tests. The workbook is ideal for advanced intermediate French students, and as a refresher and vocabulary audit for those moving into advanced French. There are two written recall challenges in the workbook: Written Recall Challenge One the four hundred adjectives are in alphabetical order English-French - students give the French translation of an English adjective Written Recall Challenge Two with this challenge, the English adjective prompts are in random order, and students give the French translation - students often learn new vocabulary in alphabetical order, so this can be great practice in recall The challenges work well together, and we do revisit them regularly over quite a long period of time. When students are very focused on particular vocabulary, they’re able to embed the vocabulary really successfully, and feel confident using it in a wide range of contexts. It’s useful to work on creative writing in French regularly too, so that students can apply their French practically, and I encourage them to use a wide range of adjectives, thinking about synonyms too. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. 34-page written recall workbook 400 French adjectives, French-English, with two written recall challenges. There are two written recall challenges in the workbook: Written Recall Challenge One all four hundred adjectives in alphabetical order French-English - students are prompted for the English translation of a French adjective Written Recall ChallengeTwo this challenge also requires students to write the English translation from a French prompt, but the adjectives are in random, rather than alphabetical order - students often learn new vocabulary in alphabetical order, so this can be great practice in recall The challenges work well together, and we do revisit them regularly over quite a long period of time.
