I like to have sets of super simple Spanish vocabulary recall worksheets that my students can work on independently for both practice and revision, either in class time or for home learning. They’re really useful for embedding vocabulary, checking recall, and for reading, writing and accurate spelling in Spanish. These four recall worksheets focus on 25 high-frequency Spanish AR verbs, and feature four differentiated recall challenges: Challenge 1: translate and write the verbs in English from a Spanish prompt; the Spanish verbs are in alphabetical order Challenge 2: translate and write the verbs in Spanish from an English prompt; the English verbs are in alphabetical order Challenge 3: translate and write the verbs in English from a Spanish prompt; the Spanish verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order. Challenge 4: translate and write the verbs in Spanish from an English prompt; the English verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order It’s really useful for language learners to be familiar with a broad range of key Spanish verb vocabulary, and the worksheets provide a language learning map, enabling students to move on confidently to more complex language and texts, including authentic resources. ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-100 LIST FREEBIE #2

BEGINNER ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-100 LIST I encourage my beginner Italian students to build up a comprehensive vocabulary bank that they can reference easily whenever they need it - we also use them for quick vocab quizzes, spelling competitions and so on. This particular list is for my more experienced Italian learners, who’ve been learning Italian for a while - all the numbers are on a single page in landscape format, so the font is fairly small, but they’re comfortable with quite a bit of text on a single page. My students all have reference resource folders or files - these can have a range of formats - for instance, sticking into a large exercise book, or punching holes down the left-hand side, and adding to files (we also use twine or thick string!). There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for vocab display, or black wave - the background makes the list a little more visually appealing, particularly for beginner language learners who do have a lot of vocab lists during the introductory phase of their studies. Have a browse in my store for more Italian vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning resources, with dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies too! It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your classroom in any way. It is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply - please read them carefully. French Numbers 0-31 J’ai… Qui a… ? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practicing, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in French. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a French number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card zéro , and ending with the final card, trente et un. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult learners, who really enjoy it too - the monster theme is popular with everyone! The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word. Try to print in color if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning. Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best French accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play! ENGLISH VERBS LIST FOR FRENCH SPEAKERS FREEBIE #2

ANGLAIS LANGUE SECONDE ESL EFL ENGLISH COMMON VERBS FOR FRENCH-SPEAKING LEARNERS OF ENGLISH English language verb reference resource for French-speaking students focusing on high-frequency English verbs. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference, either in class or at home. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This list is a second collection of 25 high-frequency English verbs that students will meet in the beginning to intermediate stages of English learning programs. They are common English verbs, so they will see, hear and use the verbs regularly in daily life. They include regular and irregular verbs, and are all in the infinitive form - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize English verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in French - at that point they can move on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning 25 verbs all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing English verb vocabulary - embedding the verbs into long-term memory will come through frequent usage. There are two alphabetical lists - one English-French, and one French-English, as I’ve found that beginner language students prefer to have both as a reference resource. There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag (which looks good as grammar / vocabulary display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocab lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocab to work through and learn. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of Spanish, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. Children glue the lists into their Spanish vocabulary books, or file them in their Spanish vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful Spanish vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner Spanish learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to Spanish prefer this. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This list is a collection of 25 high-frequency Spanish conjunctions and connectives that students will meet in the advanced beginner Spanish to intermediate Spanish learning programmes, and useful for students beginning advanced Spanish as a vocabulary audit. It’s an important step in language learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize Spanish conjunctions and connectives, and are confident with the meaning of those words in their first / home language, so that they can produce more detailed and descriptive language and more complex sentences and texts as soon as possible. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning 25 conjunctions and connectives all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing Spanish vocabulary, and it is definitely the case that frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. There are two alphabetical lists - one Spanish-English, and one English-Spanish, as I’ve found that most language students prefer to have both as a reference resource. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency Spanish conjunctions for your students, the list is a good starting point. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I tend to use for Spanish vocabulary display or Spanish grammar display, and plain. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. Perfect for developing Spanish language skills in general, as well as for practicing and revising numbers 0-21 in Spanish. There are 12 differentiated questions, with answer key and recording sheet. The cards are numbered A-L, so you can easily use these with the set of 48 task cards, making a total of 60 cards. Task cards are an ideal language learning activity, perfect for multi-skill language learning: listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. All the questions are in Spanish, including a range of Spanish math language. Students may not necessarily engage with that at this stage of their learning, so I use math symbols as visual clues and prompts, enabling students to infer meaning from context. This is a key language learning skill in general, which is important for students to develop as quickly as possible. Depending on the particular group, I may read through the questions together as a whole-group first. I really try to make the most of the task cards too - for example, with multiple-choice questions, I ask students how they have arrived at the correct response, and what is wrong with the other responses. Being able to identify errors is a key language learning skill, and it’s useful for students to begin to develop that from the very beginning of their learning. The resource comprises the following non-editable files in a zipped format: 12 differentiated question cards 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. Laminating is definitely worth the extra prep time and expense, as they cards are far more learner-friendly, and last for absolutely years. answer key & answer recording sheet The set of Spanish Numbers 0-21 Task Cards, with 48 differentiated question cards, answer key and recording sheet ($3) is here: SPANISH NUMBERS 0-21 TASK CARDS : 48 DIFFERENTIATED TASK CARDS WITH ANSWER KEY & RECORDING SHEET https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-numbers-0-21-task-cards-12921443 Have a browse in my store for more Spanish independent learning activities and task cards, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning materials, with Spanish dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!

I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my young beginner learners of Spanish, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. I give my students these worksheets at the same time as introducing o’clock in Spanish, so that they can practice and embed both recognizing the time, and writing the time phrase itself. Students really enjoy the opportunity to test their recall too. The worksheets are useful in a number of contexts: I use them for sub lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities. I occasionally use them for more formal assessment purposes too.
