Hi there! Here's a new resource pack- it's a pretty prescriptive and detailed set of resources that cover 4 days worth of work, along with challenges to boot. Included - 3-way differentiated guided reading booklet including the following *Day 1- predictions based on blurb and front cover *Day 2- author's intention through language and 'connotation' *Day 3- prepositions text marking and identifying *Day 4- decoding shakespearean quotes- prediction and answers. Learning objectives outlined on the sheets, and marking area prescribed. I used this with my year 3/4 class, but is easily adapted for 5/6.

There's a background assembly powerpoint to create a backdrop (including links to sound effects etc), the lyrics to a version of 'Gold' by Spandeau Ballet with the lyric changed to 'STONE!' I get my class to use the sentence starters ‘I know that’, ‘I believe that’, ‘I predict that’ or ‘I know this because’ to embellish their work. They’re pretty spectacular at it, now! This pack includes 4 activities. The main activity has three tasks that involve classifying words into 1 of 7 categories. This opens up for lots of conversation and debate, which is a great basis for a lesson.
