This lesson is a topic 1 lesson of the new AQA Biology and Trilogy 9-1 specification (topic 1).
It covers cell differentiation and specialisation
Each lesson provides take away learning card(s) so the students can keep a record of the content for that lesson, this lesson provides activities to meet the following outcomes.
Explain the importance of cell differentiation.
These lessons have a basic presentation, which can be made to look more engaging with free pictures from the internet which I cannot sell due to copyright, however the teaching from the lessons can be outstanding when customised to your own school/classes requirements and used together with my other suggested documents (also attached).
My lessons contain all of the elements to make an outstanding lesson. I include with this lesson a free copy of my templates and student/teacher agreement, which I use to allow teaching to be outstanding on every level, including many of my own ideas not sold in any other toolkits or publications. I have taken feedback on my outstanding lessons to incorporporate the outstanding features into every lesson, that actually extend beyond the classroom.
Any questions or queries please contact me via email.
This lesson is a topic 1 lesson of the new AQA Biology and Trilogy 9-1 specification (topic 1).
It covers electron microscopy, and I am including here free of charge the slides to allow you to run the required practical as a lesson, you will need your own lab sheets for this etc from your exam board.
Each lesson provides take away learning card(s) so the students can keep a record of the content for that lesson, this lesson provides activities to meet the following outcomes.
Describe the structure of animal, plant and bacterial cells.

Each lesson provides take away learning card(s) so the students can keep a record of the content for that lesson, this lesson provides activities to meet the following outcomes.
Describe a prokaryotic and a eukaryotic cell (not structure - this is covered in lesson 2)
Able to convert to/from standard form and carry out measurement conversions

New AQA GCSE Biology 9-1 Specification. All content in here so suitable for individual sciences, trilogy, higher or foundation. My particular powerpoint version is aimed at single science higher tier, can be easily adapted to suit your trilogy or foundation students.
I have grouped together topics 5 to 7 revision card activities, to give a great value complete revision pack for the second year of the content for students. These are large topics and therefore each was produced in two parts, giving you 6 documents in your bundle, each part is being offered separately. Students are welcome to buy directly to help with their own revision, can help to understand the content a little easier - use together with your class notes and revision guide.
Teachers - help your lessons along to outstanding, I have seen very quick progress in my own students since I started using this format, students love them and are very willing to try. They are so useful and versatile, - revision cards, starters or plenaries, support mats, instructional material in the flipped classroom.
New AQA GCSE Biology 9-1 specification. Topic 7 (this is PART 2)- Ecology is very large so I am splitting into two packs this is part 2 - covering all of these theory topics; Impact of Environmental Change, Biodiversity, Global Warming, Maintaining Biodiversity, Trophic Levels, Pyramids of Biomass, Food Production, Biotechnology. Required practicals are not covered here.
These cards are useful for students to use for revision (print 2 to a page), and for teachers to use in a lesson as an activity or plenary. Good instructional material for a flipped classroom.
Includes a ‘Do’ and ‘Review’ slide, the ‘Do’ will check understanding and make the learning more active, the ‘Review’ can help students check answers and act as a revision card. Equally works well as a starter for the next lesson to check retention. Many uses e.g. support mats, starter, plenary, revision etc.

Topic 6 part 1. This pack covers all of these theory topics; Sexual and asexual reproduction, advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproduction, meiosis, DNA and the genome, structure of DNA and protein synthesis, mutations, genetic inheritance, genetic crosses. Suggested that students source a picture of meiosis stages from their own familiar text books.

Topic 5 part 2. This pack covers all of these theory topics; The human endocrine system, control of blood glucose, diabetes, water/nitrogen balance, ADH, dialysis, hormones in reproduction, plant hormones, thyroxine/adrenaline, negative feedback exam mastery. Students need to source a graph of the interaction of the hormones in the menstrual cycle - a learning activity has been suggested in the notes for this.

This resource is one of my active revision card activities on 'Controlling Body Temperature'. Aimed at the new 9-1 AQA specification for single sciences, but the content looks like it would suit all exam boards.
My active revision cards include a 'Do' and 'Review' slide, where the 'review' assists the student with the whole content for the lesson and the 'do' makes the learning more active and challenges students to recall the keywords etc for the lesson.
The document is very versatile, can support the flipped learning environment as an instructional slide. Can be printed on half a sheet of A4, a great size as take away revision cards, also good size for a starter for the next lesson or a plenary at the end of the lesson. The resource also makes a good support mat printed on a full A4 sheet.
This is one document from a pack of my premium resources. I hope this will help students and teachers with teaching and learning.
New AQA GCSE Biology 9-1 specification. Topic 5 - Homeostasis and Response is very large so I am splitting into two packs this is part 1.
Topic 5 part 1. This pack covers all of these theory topics; homeostasis, the nervous system, synapses and reflexes, the brain, the eye, correcting vision defects, negative feedback. The brain and an eye picture will need sourcing by the students - a fun activity has been suggested within the pack (in the notes at the bottom of slide) for the students to practise these drawings and create their own - it will really get them learning!

Please note that you require the free tarsia software to open these documents, they will not open in other programmes. If you require help please email me.
New AQA GCSE Biology 9-1 specification. Four tarsia activity puzzle documents included - I have produced two versions of each (both included in the zip file - total 8 documents). One version is ideal for trilogy, and another (named triple) ideal for biology as a single science. Both are aimed at higher tier candidates, you can adapted to suit foundation tier students if required.
Covers the topics; cells, organisation, infection, bioenergetics. Each tarsia produces a different shape, there is one domino, one triangle, a rhombus and a standard parallelogram. The triple version includes the part of the topic for biology only and is slightly more difficult as there are questions around the edges/ or bigger version of the puzzle.
My students have loved these activities, they are fun to work on in pairs, they guide the students to revise the particular key words etc that I know they will need to recall, and used together with my support mats (a large print out of my active revision card activities), the students can look up anything they are unsure of (they can quickly go over the content again).
OR a useful marking free homework - at a glance check the student have correct shape, can be peer marked by posting up the solution on the board.
You will require the free tarsia software downloaded to your computer, simply google it and install, if you would like on your school computer your computer technicians should be happy to help.
