This is a lesson I am using with my top set Yr9. I am going to show them how to form questions in Spanish, a list of question words and how to ask opinions on something. Asking opinions is part of the GCSE speaking exam so I think it is important that they start getting used to understanding and asking questions.

With this lesson I am doing a bit of revision on one of the grammar topics of Module 3: the definite and indefinite articles. I am also revising a few objects from the school equipment topic, introduced to them earlier in the year. As usual, there is a slide explaining the difference between both articles, and a few interactive activities to do with them, then students can find some activities to do independently. Students have to translate five sentences by working their way up the grid. To make it more competitive, I tell them that if they mistake a mistake they lose their turn, but if they get a whole sentence right, they get one achievement point (or any other reward). It is a very nice activity that can be easily modified and adapted to students needs. This is an activity to challenge your students to identify the mispronounciation of some words in the Target Language. I am uploading this resource in Spanish but it can easily be adapted to all languages. Here is what you have to do: You are going to read the sentences to the class out loud. You are going to read each sentence twice. The first time, you will read the sentence correctly. The second time, you will make a mistake when pronouncing one of the words in that sentence.
