These complex and challenging texts remain as controversial in the post-modern world as they did at the time of publication. I have taught these texts a number of times and have refined this resource at the close of every academic year. I have successfully used this resource to lead my teaching in the classroom, as a homework or distance learning material and even as a tool of revision – all have worked well for the students. This colossal nineteen slide presentation provides the appropriate detail and exploration required at A level, and is suitable with slight adaptions for IB and the American system. This presentation commences with an exploration into the meaning and interpretation of the term, ‘Love’, with structured writing tasks, discussion and mini research tasks - bringing awareness to how the definition functions. This exploration scaffolds a more informed analysis of Gatsby and Othello as constructs, and this is once again taught through a series of structured tasks. Every slide is dynamically illustrated and very engaging. This presentation also contains an extension task and homework assignment. There is no work for you to complete whatsoever. This is a complete resource. Enjoy.

Beloved portrays the life of a household before and after slavery. How does the author present the influence of the enslaved institution and its continued influence on subsequent generations? It is particularly suitable for unconfident students, or students that work at a slower pace than their peers. I have received exceptional feedback from the students regarding this specific resource and the English department as a whole. There is no work for you to complete whatsoever.
