Split the class into 3 groups.
Group 1 is asked to choose a 3 digit number (all different)
Group 2 is asked to choose a 3 digit number (2 digits the same)
Group 3 is asked to choose a 3 digit number (all 3 digits the same)
I used to have 3 envelopes with the answers inside so that I could amaze the learners.
I had some good discussions on WHY?
Bundle of 2 Maths Gameshows + Maths Words Game.
2 Animated Interactive Maths Gameshows - 4 Rules
Gameshow 1 addition, subtraction, multiplication, division without worded questions
Gameshow 2 addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with worded questions
These are ideal for use where learners are split into groups and are in competition or as a mock television gameshow. These options worked very well with adult learners.
All of the questions have answers.
You can choose to go to the answer from the question and then return to the main grid. This way the question can be seen again if required. If you return to the main grid without seeing the answer the question disappears from the grid. This is the best option if learners are in competition and are writing down their answers until all questions have been accessed. There are many different ways to use the gameshows. I have even used them on a 1:1 basis and for practicing calculator use.
Also included is a pdf which has sheets learners can use for working out and listing answers.
Maths Words Game
The game is in PPSX format.
There is a one word sample in FREE Resources.
When a learner says a letter just click the letter at the bottom.
If the letter exists on the board it will appear on the board and also below the game. If the letter is not on the board it will just appear below the game.
The game could be used at the start or end of term or as a lesson starter. It is probably most suitable for L1/L2/GCSE learners.
There are 10 words as listed below:
DECIMAL PLACE
DENOMINATOR
RIGHT ANGLED TRIANGLE
