In this math art activity pupils need to identify the gradient (slope US) of a function, rearrangng where necessary from the implicit function to y=mx+c and hence identify the gradient. Pupils then shade all the squares with those answers in the colour stated. As a result pupils will have a picture of an Easter chick. There are** three different worksheets** of increasing difficultly, they are; Worksheet 1: There are 14 questions on finding the gradient from functions where Q1-14 the functions are already in the form y=mx+b (or mx+b=y) and one final question which requires rearranging to get the form y=mx+b Worksheet 2: There are 14 questions, the first 5 pupils find the gradient of functions already in the form y=mx+b and then the remaining questions they must rearrange with the last few giving fractions.
