This is my revision sheet summarising the enzymes Amylase, Protease and Lipase for a Year 9 biology topic. It is heavily based on the new AQA Biology unit of the same name, but stripped down, so lower ability GCSE classes might also find this useful. As usual, I have included my question cards for the students who finish early to write their own questions to test others.

This is a handy sheet you may want to provide your classes - a simple to read list of all the equations required to be remembered for the AQA Physics 2016 curriculum. These are a set of resources you could use to revise the content of this unit. I have provided a standard revision sheet and mind map, as well as a Kagan structured "find someone who" activity on forces and a lower ability types of forces quiz. This is lesson two in a SoW that is designed to into AQA GCSE content by year 9. This lesson goes into the idea of balanced and unbalanced forces and then defines a resultant force.

This is a fun lesson! You will need to book a Van Der Graaf generator for the demonstrate phase of the lesson and you will need balloons (and ideally, a balloon pump so that no moisture enters the balloon for maximum effect). This is my introductory lesson to the space topic for KS3. It broadly follows the Activate Science text book. I have added more information in however from the Astronomy GCSE - just interesting information and nothing too challenging. Should provide some good questions from the class!

This is an introductory lesson into circuit components and drawing circuits. Designed specifically for stretch and challenge. This is an introductory lesson into series circuits. I liken series circuits to a roller coaster at the start for a different analogy. This is a supplementary powerpoint that you could use to deliver this classic activity. you will need sticky tape and paper for the main activity, but this can give it a nice framing and you can link it to whatever topic you require (Forces, Matter, Enrichment day, etc.) The emphasis is on teamwork.

This is the first part of a double lesson I used to teach the required practical on measuring resistance. You will need AQA practical worksheets as well as this which can be found on their website. This lesson itself may need to be a double lesson, depending on the ability of the class as I found that a demonstration of setting up was needed for lower ability classes first.

This is my KS3 presentation on indicators and how to complete the red cabbage experiment. Very simple to read and understand and is best suited for the lower end of year 7/8. It also goes into indicator paper and an experiment worksheet and assessment worksheet is included on the powerpoint.

This is the first lesson in the SoW that needs an equation - it’s a required to remember equation for AQA physics. The lesson is a calculation heavy lesson and fistly models how to use power triangles and equations, then the students can attempt a differentiated demonstrate task.
