This is my PowerPoint that is geared specifically to help embed mathematical skills in a Science context. This one is concerning large and small numbers/standard form. I have created this to make it as simple to follow and build upon as possible, with the intention of making this accessible to students from all year groups if necessary. I have also created a worksheet specifically for this lesson. Any appropriate worksheet could be used in place however.

This is my lesson on resistors and how they work. I have also included all worksheets that I made to teach it. I also used an exam question, however as this is copyrighted, I have not included this. It will be easy enough to find a suitable replacement however. Lower ability classes will take longer on the fact sheet section, so you may need to adjust timings.

This is the first part of a double lesson I used to teach the required practical on measuring resistance. You will need AQA practical worksheets as well as this which can be found on their website. This lesson itself may need to be a double lesson, depending on the ability of the class as I found that a demonstration of setting up was needed for lower ability classes first.

This lesson covers parallel circuits and how they operate. included is a powerpoint, experiment worksheet and a learning mat. I liken parallel circuits to a motorway toll road to help visualise the concept first. The lesson is designed to fill around 50 mins, but could easily fill an hour with more experiment time. This is the first lesson in the SoW that needs an equation - it’s a required to remember equation for AQA physics. The lesson is a calculation heavy lesson and fistly models how to use power triangles and equations, then the students can attempt a differentiated demonstrate task. The most able students will likely need an extension task, so have one to hand. I have two free resources from the SoW if you would like to see how I structure these lessons. This is a lesson aimed ad mid-ability students on the above topic. I have also included a simple worksheet I made to accompany it, but you may want to supplement the lesson with additional worksheets from AQA or another source. The aim was to get the students used to using the equation and developing numeracy skills.

This is a lesson I made to teach stopping distance. In it I also used an exam question on stopping distance, but as it is copyrighted I will not also upload this. Please source your own. The video starter is a powerful hook and the consolidate/plenary is also a good evaluation tool.

This is a power point covering the differences between AC and DC. You will need to add in an AQA worksheet on the topic for assessment and you will need an Oscilloscope, power pack and cell as well. I tried to link AC to a heart beat as this could be completely new content for a year 10 class. I have put suggestion on how to lead the starter in the comments of the lesson.

This is my presentation on resistance and the relationship between R,V and I. It also includes slides that can be printed off and used as worksheets. You may wish to supplement this with an AQA worksheet or exam question, however.

This lesson is intended as a resistance calculation and graph building lesson. The students will have collected their own results to plot from last lesson. This is my lesson on Static Charge for the new AQA Specification. I have included my worksheet that I made for this lesson, but you will need a textbook or some exam questions for the demonstrate section of the lesson or some other form of assessment. Please be aware that this is very similar to one of my year 11 lessons I have, so if you did buy that one, no need to get this one as it's just that but a bit more stripped down! Should also me noted that this is an Physics only lesson. Not required for Combined award.

This is a Physics only lesson in the Electricity topic of the new AQA Specification. It is a light lesson as there is not a lot of content that the students are required to know. Perhaps stick it together with static charge if you have hour lessons (mine are 50 mins). This is an entirely optional lesson - a reflection lesson that I use after I have marked books and expect homework in. A series of tasks are included on the slides and it is expected that the students will have marking/questions to do from your comments in the books.
