This lesson teaches the topic of Capital Punishment. Pupils will be able to describe what ‘capital punishment’ is. They will be able to explain different religious attitudes to the death penalty as well as evaluate arguments for and against it. This 50 minute lesson includes: Oracy Task. Group Task. Video Link. Research Task. Use of Text books will be needed for this. This lesson might need to be adapted if you don’t stock the Bartlett, Fleming, Smith, and Worden textbooks. Alternative information sheets have been provided at the end of the slides in case. Self Assessment. Religious teaching analysis. Exam Board - AQA Spec A This lesson follows the content recommendations made by AQA. Christianity Beliefs and Practices and Islam Beliefs and Practices This lesson includes quick-fire questions and infographics to help pupils remember and retain information for the GCSE Exams. This lesson takes approximately 1 hour to go through effectively and can be modified to be used for multiple 30 minute revision sessions. This is a content based lesson and does not discuss exam skills or how to write essays. As a dedicated professional I take a lot of pride in the work I create, most of which I have offered on TES free of charge. My free lessons and resources come mostly with 4.5+ star ratings and to be sure of their quality you’re welcome to download them. I offer my charged lessons at the minimum amount as I do not believe in extorting my peers but at the same time I am a professional looking to make ends meet.
