This Teach, Practise, Extend PowerPoint resource focuses on semi-colons. In total there are three slides: Slide 1 - Definition of the two different ways that semi-colons are used with examples. Slide 2 - Four sentences where the children add information in a list which includes semi-colons. Then, five sentences where the children complete the sentence where the semi-colon replaces a connective. Slide 3 - Ten sentences where the children write the first part of the sentence before the semi-colon. A great revision resource and game for any year 6 pupil. Loop cards are normally used in Maths and Literacy but why not try them in Science? Enclosed in this pack are 32 questions which challenge the children's ability at knowing important science definitions. The topics that are covered in this pack are: Forces in Action Changing Circuits Interdependence and Adaptation Irreversible and Reversible Changes How We See Things Once the class or group have completed the loop card activity once, why not time them to see if they can complete the 'loop' in a faster time. Each child could keep the same card or they can be rotated between groups. Alternatively the cards can be cut in half and are great for the matching game 'pairs' TOP TIP - After printing, why not laminate so that you have a resource which can be used over and over again?
