Play in Slide Show mode for animation - You can start the presentation From Beginning or Current Slide.
It starts with an introduction to create interest. You can bring in a pumpkin and/or use the pumpkin on the slide to start the lesson off. The presentation goes through each stage of the cycle. There is whole class interaction with the presentation and review questions.
Lesson Plan - This is flexible and starts with an introduction and then the main activity. I’ve included the presentation slide numbers for ease. Although you can just play through the PowerPoint . The plan states learning objectives and learning outcomes and the resources needed to carry out the lesson.

Worksheets 1 and 2: Read and trace over words and cut/paste activity
An extra worksheet shows 4 main stages of the life cycle.
Worksheet 3: Colour and b/w: This shows the 6 stages of the life cycle. Students label each stage. Once labelled, they fill in the missing words in the 6 sentences.
Worksheets 4 and 4a: Cut and paste activity. Students cut out the pictures and correctly glue them in the correct order on the life cycle diagram and then label the boxes.
Worksheet 5: Writing in order to sequence the pumpkin’s stages of growth.
Worksheet 6 (Optional Extension): Detailed writing for more able writers. This worksheet contains useful vocabulary which students can use to write a more detailed explanation of the life cycle using the information gained from the PowerPoint presentation and the life cycle diagram on the worksheet.

A Thanksgiving mixed bag of differentiated math worksheets and practical activities ideal for math centers.

Teacher notes (5 pages). You could set up math stations for students.
Optional lesson starter PowerPoint (0 to 20) – Whole class counting aloud backwards and forwards. You can assess students’ knowledge - which number comes after 7 or what numbers comes before 11 and practice one more/one less.
Picture Number Puzzle Strips x7 (color/b/w) – The strips range from 1 to 10, 11 to 20 and then counting by 2s to 20; counting by 2s using odd numbers, e.g. 1, 3, 5 etc and even numbers – 2, 4, 6 etc.
Numeral cards 0- 20 in words and figures for various activities such as matching numbers to number words; sorting odd and even numbers.
3 sets of Picture cards (pumpkin, pumpkin pie and ‘We are thankful’ cards) – to be used with a variety of activities with the numeral cards, as outlined in teacher notes. E.g. Sound and Pitch - e.g. use empty bottles filled with different levels of liquid to produce different pitches and also blow horizontally along the edge to produce sounds similar to wind instruments; and/or experiment with guitar strings –shortening and lengthening the string to produce different sounds;
Listening devices - experiment with different string telephones by changing variables such as type of string and material of cups;
Blocking Out Sound activities- students can make ear defenders out of margarine tubs packed with different materials or they can wrap the sound source like a buzzer or alarm clock with different materials to see which is best at muffling the sound.
Optional - Musical Instruments - Students can make musical instruments or use the ones they may have made in previous lessons - to adjust how they use it or even make it better - can experiment with various aspects of sound.
Outside activity - How sound gets fainter as you travel further away - Use a sound source like a buzzer.

This product reviews adverbs and then focusses on adverbial phrases. It deals with grouping adverbials of manner, time and frequency, place, purpose/reason and adverbials of degree/intensity. Presentation explains how adverbial phrases act as adverbs in a sentence. Also includes fronted adverbials.

Adverbs and Adverbial Phrases Sort (1) and (2) – Students sort the adverbs and adverbial phrases under the correct headings.
Worksheet – Tasks A and B: Match Up activity. Students draw lines to match up a sentence to a suitable adverbial phrase.
Worksheet – Using Adverbials (1) – Students write the beginning of their sentences and then tick any of the eight adverbial phrases to finish off. An example is given on the worksheet.
Worksheet – Using Adverbials (2) – This worksheet follows on from Adverbials (1) in that students rewrite their sentence but place the adverbial phrase at the beginning remembering to use the comma.
Worksheets (2 pages): More exercises on writing fronted adverbials.
