Follow Harre Pota as he undertakes various experiments in which the reactivity of metals is investigated. Includes practical details.
Instructions are all on the powerpoint and there is a table sheet for students to fill in their answers for differentiation.

Practicals can be set out at stations around the room and given a time limit on each one to prevent overcrowding.
Students cut out the sheets and take in sticking the 'window' pane down so that the symbol, hazard and controlling risks strips can slide up and down in their exercise books.
Activity can be used to self assess knowledge, peer assess each other and then match up symbols,to hazards to controlling risks on the accompanying worksheet table. For extension work - encourage learners to extend their learning by looking up other symbols such as compressed and radiation.
This can be attached to every TDA to show the amount of marks given for each TDA, it also speeds up the marking and assessing process. This can also highlight areas which your students are finding more difficult to write up so you can spend more time more time going over these weaker areas.

This is set up as a time saver so you can track what topics have been covered in your department for Y9,10 and 11.
It has been formatted so all you need to do is type in the group and set, put the name of their teacher in and then once a topic has been completed type in a 9 for Y9, 10 for Y10 and 11 for Y11. This will change colour and keep you track and monitor who has been taught which unit.
Students can colour and create an interactive resource that they can stick in exercise books. The flaps lift up to show the effects of either physical, chemical or biological weathering. Students can then describe the process under the flap.
Also including is a worksheet to assess knowledge and a teacher guide which contains photos of the finished products.
A quiz that you will be able to complete within a 1h lesson or as a lunch time , with answers and answer sheet.
Round 1 - Guess the scientist in the sceince film
Round 2 - name the science song
Round 3 - who was the scientists and what was the discovery?
Round 4 - where were theses scientists born?
Round 5 - name the discoveries and order them!
Edited - July 2017 and updated
None of the rounds require use of youtube or external sites, as I am aware these are often blocked in some schools.
A cut and stick 'Earth' that when put together adds a bit of class to a boring drawing in the exercise book. It is quick and easy to put together and can be printed on A5 (so 2 pages to one piece of A4). When it is complete the Earth folds over as do the layers in the these amazing interactive notebook foldable
This resource contains the Earth model to cut out, extra questions, instructions to how to complete the model and a brief research lesson plan.

Match sure your KS3 Science students 'master' all the key ideas they need before they start on their GCSE journey. It will support conversations with students to what they have to do to improve/next steps as well as your report writing and parents evenings.
This PLC is already formatted with the statements/Can do/key idea statements all you have to do is add numbers:
1) can not do yet (red)
2) nearly there (orange)
3) mastered (green)
4) Away/absent for the lessons covering the key idea so need to catch up (grey)
This resources covers all Biology, Chemistry and Physics topics, as well as working scientifically and other key skills (EG: graph drawing, calculations and maths skills, homework quality).
You can also edit/add sections to suit your own teaching needs.
AQA Synergy combined science GCSE ,(8465) required practical and skills PLC:
The Synergy content broken down into 'can do' statements. Teachers can RAG rate student progress to highlight strengths and weaknesses on this already formatted spreadsheet. All you have to do is put a number in and it will change colour automatically, saving you time and effort.
Included is 3x required practical booklet for the biology, physics and chemistry required practical and a general scientific skills PLC tracker.
PLC trackers are included for the synergy required practicals, building blocks, transport over large distances, interactions with the environment, explaining change, building blocks for understanding, interactions, movement, guiding spaceship Earth and key skill areas, Each section has coloured coded outcomes to differentiate biology, chemistry and physics.
This resource should help you track student progress until they master each element of the Biology trilogy specification. The tracker will support written reports, inform students of the next steps and could even be used at parents evenings to inform parents of progress.
AQA Triology GCSE Chemistry Content, required practical and skills PLC:
The Trilogy Chemistry content broken down into 'can do' statements. Teachers can RAG rate student progress to highlight strengths and weaknesses on this already formatted spreadsheet. All you have to do is put a number in and it will change colour automatically, saving you time and effort.
Also include is a required practical tracker, the separate sciences Chemistry required practical assessment booklet and a general scientific skills PLC tracker ffor 8462.
PLC trackers are included for the chemistry trilogy required practicals, energy changes, chemical changes, quantitative chemistry, atmosphere, rates of reaction, organic chemistry, chemical analysis, bonding and structure, atomic structure, key skill areas,
This resource should help you track student progress until they master each element of the chemistry 8462 specification. The tracker will support written reports, inform students of the next steps and could even be used at parents evenings to inform parents of progress.
