A set of student and teacher notes as a PowerPoint presentation and scaffolded notes covering the topics of What is Life? It covers the 6 characteristics of living things, the 4 news of living things and the Redi experiment. Animations are included in the PowerPoint (with directions on how to change/remove) to show one bullet point at a time.
In the lab activity, students will investigate mystery objects to determine if they are living things. Students will observe the two mystery objects while they are dry, in water and in vinegar. The file includes teacher directions, student worksheet and answer key.
