In this lesson, students will explore the early development of the Nazi Party from 1920 to 1922, focusing on Adolf Hitler’s rise to power. In this lesson, students explore the Pilgrimage of Grace in 1536, a significant uprising in Northern England against Henry VIII’s policies, including the dissolution of monasteries and religious reforms. Activities include video analysis to identify causes, categorising research into religious, economic, and political factors, and writing structured essays. Students will also engage in discussions, creating a ‘Diamond 9’ ranking of the uprising’s causes, and developing scripts for historical role-plays. The lesson aims to highlight the complex motivations behind the rebellion and the widespread resistance to the king’s religious and economic policies.
