Form time tutorial resource on political parties (please note this lesson is up to date as of January 2024). The lesson looks at what political parties are, who the leaders of the major political parties in the UK are, why someone might run as an MP as a member of a party, who the Prime Minister is and how to find out about political parties. There is also a link to some 60 second video clips about the major political parties (these are from 2017 elections). This is an easy to follow power point lesson (no prior planning, printing or preparation required). The resource is designed to be delivered as one 20-25 minute session but all of our resources are fully editable and designed to allow sections to be added, removed or changed should you need to do so. No previous knowledge in the subject area is needed, the lesson is easily deliverable by someone who is not a subject specialist or an experienced Citizenship teacher.
