Here’s a great way to practice maths skills for Matariki: Children complete fact families or times tables on whetū/stars, cut them out, and make a kete to store them in. There are lots of options to choose from: Make a kete with a string handle or paper handle Addition/Subtraction fact families – partially filled, all gaps, or student choice Multiplication/Division fact families - partially filled, all gaps, or student choice Times tables – 1/2/5/10x, 1-4x/5-8x/9-12x, or a mixture Children complete three stars (1 page), four stars (1 page), or seven stars (2 pages).
