I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Fruit Salad World Record - Simplifying Expressions

This is designed to be a starting point for simplifying expressions containing different letters and how different letters must remain separate. I've use the apples and bananas thing purely because I couldn&'t think of anything better.

Batman Probability

Find the probability of the next enemy Batman meets being one of the 6 scenarios. I was going to extend this into getting the class to come up with their own questions based on the enemies.

This is a discussion activity for use with lower ability classes and solving equations. Funnily enough, this sort of thing does normally happen to me, although not at a cinema showing equations films!

This is like Expressions 1 but tougher - involves simplifying with brackets etc. Again I have put two versions: one with my face and one with smileys. A bid to make simplifying expressions more memorable.

This is for KS3 or low ability KS4 - I have put 2 versions on: one including my face and one with smileys. You can obviously swap the pictures for your own. I thought it might make simplifying expressions a bit more fun!
Calculation Countries

Calculation Countries

Calculate the answers to each problem, use the table to change the answers to letters and then unjumble the letters to make a country. This is aimed at foundation GCSE or KS3 and involves simple powers (squares and cubes) as well as Bidmas.
