I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Calculate these proportional relationships involving Superman and his proximity to kryptonite as well as his rating in the criminal underworld. An attempt to liven up proportion with my 10th Grade.

I've been meaning to do this for ages and finally got around to doing it. Describe the symmetry on each logo - should open up some discussion.

Calculate how angry The Bulk is by figuring out what scale factor he's enlarged by and using Bulk's "Angry Scale". See how that relates to his "safety" box and its surface area and volume.

Solving Problems - Explain Yourself!

(1)
I wrote this for students who aren't that keen on algebra, so have interspersed some relatively easy numerical problems with similar algebraic problems, getting them to write down their thought process to solve them. The ultimate aim is to show the students that the equations are just like the numerical problems.

Ludwig von Terrible's Bomb Threat

(4)
Your mission is to diffuse a bomb, but as the video explains Ludwig has left clues to the code required. Answer the questions, find the average of your answers in each section to decipher the code. In all honesty you don't need to show the 30 second video, but my classes like confirmation of my stupidity every now and then, so the video exists as a result. It is designed for lower ability students.

Circle Theorems Notes To Complete

(1)
These sheets contain sketches of circle theorems and blanks for the students to fill in in their own words. They can then use the notes in a future lesson to fill in the blanks on the "Fill In The Blanks" sheet. The idea was to save them drawing poor sketches in their books and to write the rules in their own words.

Lenk's Archery Practice - Trigonometry

(1)
This is an activity where you have to calculate missing sides and angles for computer software designers, based upon Link's Crossbow Training on the Wii! There is an extension where they have to produce general formulae where there are different ways of calculating the same thing depending on what you are given.
