Maths Resources - Part Whole Model (2,3, 4 and 5) - Blank Template - KS1/KS2 The part whole model is a pictorial representation that shows the relationship between a whole and its parts. The part whole model is often used for small quantities where children should be able to see how many of something is there without counting, instead, they will subitise; they can also use base tens or hundreds to visualise the division. The part whole model template helps create a solid foundation of understanding numbers. Both KS1 and KS2 children with a good foundation will begin to really explore numbers, they are encouraged to think of numbers in different ways. For example, they will begin to see the number seven as 4 and 3 or 5 and 2. This bundle comes with a part whole model template that are divided in 2, 3, 4 and 5 parts. Materials such as counters, cubes and objects can be used with the part whole model to aid when dividing. These templates come in both vertical and horizontal formats except the 5 part whole model that comes in the horizontal format. The templates come in a A4 page but can be enlarged and be printed on A3. These templates can be reused by laminating the printed paper or by using a plastic wallet.
