Ideas for a pirate topic, ideas and worksheet to make your own pirate flag, pictures to help plan a character description and a storyboard template.
A set of differentiated worksheets I made where children have to add the two numbers below to get the final brick of the top of the pyramid.
The harder worksheets require inverse operations. Fantastic for an activity relating to how additional and subtraction are linked, or reinforcing the concept.

A set of resources for children to decide whether they are for or against school uniform, I have included both viewpoints in separate documents and a document that discusses both sides of the argument as well as a few more resources to help. Hope this helps!
Indiana Jones - Adventure, survival stories - Implementing genre features - Internal dialogue - Could alternatively be used as a stimulus for a ‘big write.’
I found very little in terms of creative content in this area so made my own creative lesson up. (Delivered to a year 5/6 class of 30 children.)
RESOURCE FEATURES…
Lesson Plan (used in an observation lesson.)
PowerPoint - Including embedded video clips, starter to the lesson and details of activity.
Worksheet for starter asking the children to name the genre from a general description. (Answers on PowerPoint.)
Separate video clip for lesson
All you need for a creative literacy lesson with the following objectives and success criteria.
Learning Objective: To know and understand the features of survival / adventure stories
Success criteria:
• Powerful verbs
• Dialogue and internal voice (the PowerPoint / clips are especially useful for this concept.)
• Description to create excitement
Children are then asked to produce a piece of creative writing (as set out in the lesson plan / PowerPoint) with the film clip as a stimulus.
A Powerpoint to support the sketching of ‘winter trees.’
I made this for a year 3/4 class to show them examples of winter trees (with no leaves) for discussion before going outside and sketching real life trees.
In addition there are some images I used as a print out for the children to discuss and refer to, these may help teachers with the demonstration of the technique too.
I have also included an additional Powerpoint I have made with non-commercial pictures of winter trees to show children.
A Smart Notebook file, about finding change from £1.
The coins can be moved into the actual hand as required to help the childrens understanding.
I can’t stress how helpful the notebook file is to illustrate this.
Suitable for years 2-4
I have also included a lesson plan for this particular lesson I was observed on and a large collection of differentiated worksheets.
Ideal for a year 7-9 year olds and can be differentiated accordingly.
This lesson involves following a short section of the film Shrek and its script that I have typed out. Children then go on to write a short section of the script by converting a piece of text into a playscript.
Children have loved this lesson and it always provides some funny voices too from the class. A great way to get boys interested in writing.
Includes
Required short video clips, cut to measure
Lesson plan
Required worksheets
Required script sections

An incredibly effective lesson leading onto an assembly to show how soul destroying racism really can be with links to Nelson Mandela.
Is VERY powerful if done properly. See my other resources for a great lesson on drawing portraits of Nelson Mandela.
NB: This resource is now 1/4 of the price it originally started at and still has some outstanding unique content included.
A very high quality resource.
This is a 32 slide Powerpoint, including videos and high quality unique animations around the subject of Growth-Mindset designed for presentation to staff and parents alike. Many parts are also suitable for children themselves especially the videos.
Uniquely designed and produced my myself and an extremely reputable colleague for use at inset in school, who has now gone on to advise in this area. As we designed this resource collaboratively I am lucky enough to be able to post these particular elements here.
I have also included slide handouts and and a Mac / Keynote / iPad version of the resource, which also has embedded video files. Note the keynote version of the resource has additional special effects for Mac / OS/ iPad users.
Perfect for the introduction or refresh of ‘Growth-Mindset’ in schools and won’t have been seen anywhere!
I have included some of the research videos we used as part of our project.

How did it originate?
Includes a text in Newspaper style about the event and comprehension questions based on this, ideal for a talking point and could lead into some excellent discussions in year 5/6 regarding marketing / advertising etc.
I used this last year very successfully and it generated a great deal of valuable discussion.
