Two Powerpoints for introducing and practicing standard deviation. Standard Deviation ‘What it Means’ introduces the idea of spread with some examples then gives the full standard deviation for pupils to practice. Standard Deviation ‘Practice Questions’ gives some examples for pupils to practice and full solutions. These two activities extend from 3 by 3 to 4 by 4 magic squares. Pupils design an individual magic square then search for groups of four numbes that add up to 34 (there are lots).
