World Cup 2022 Qatar
This resource contains a variety of resources relating to the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The activities link to a range of curricular areas.
The activities included are:
Class sweepstake - This includes a link to randomiser so the countries can be randomly allocated to pupils.
Name the flag quiz
World Cup in numbers - estimation quiz
Design a football strip - relates to the country that pupils got from sweep stake. It also has printable template.
Who will win the world cup survey - Takes the pupils through the process of a survey. Pupils must collect info in a tally chart then create a graph of their choice to present their information.
County fact file - again this relates to their sweep stake country. The activity gives a modelled fact file.
World Cup debate - Should the World Cup have been held in Qatar. Pupils must gather evidence for both sides of the debate then argue one side of it during a class debate.

Halloween Spooky Setting Creative Writing
This writing lesson teaches and models how to use figurative and descriptive writing to create a spooky setting. It models an example for learners and contains a planning page for learners to plan their own writing in a setting of their choice.
Persuasive Letter To Santa
This resource teaches learners how to use persuasive strategies and use these to create a persuasive letter to Santa.
It discusses the effect of different persuasive devices then provides a modeled letter that can be the basis of class discussion for learners to identify the strategies used and the effect they have. It also models the correct layout of a letter.
Halloween Character Costume Quiz
Who’s behind the costume halloween celebrity quiz. Learners have to try to guess who is behind each costume.

Plan a Halloween Disco
This lessons encourages pupils to develop their budgeting skills by planning a Halloween party. Budget and prices could be adapted to suit the age and stage of learners.
Autumn Mandala Design & Colouring Art
This is a fun and relaxing art activity which can be tailored to suit all learners. This resource includes:
Teaching slides which explain what mandala art is and gives a step by step guide on how to create the art using the guideline template. However this resource could be made more challenging by getting learners to draw out the guidelines using a ruler protractor (a blank template is attached also)
Two different leaf designs with guidelines or completely blank for learners to draw their own.
For learners who may find the design challenging then I have included six colouring mandala worksheets using the same leaf designs.

Halloween Creative Writing - Describing a Spooky Character
This creative writing lesson focuses on describing a spooky character.
The lesson begins with a simile starter activity which can be completed as a class or in groups. It also then includes a follow up similes worksheet that learners could complete independently.
The resource then focuses on how we can describe a character by their:

behaviour/actions
personality/attitudes
The resource includes a modelled passage about a vampire where learners can identify what they learn about the character and sort it into the three categories. Again this can be completed as a whole class or in groups or there is a follow up worksheet that could be completed independently.

This is setting focused writing lesson is a popular and engaging lesson for learners. The lesson provides an engaging story starter prompt which learners can use or come up with their own. The focus of the lesson is what the character ‘Mia’ sees through the keyhole. Learners may choose to keep this character or will adapt with their own ideas. The lesson can be solely focused on describing what is seen through the keyhole or more confident writers may wish to continue the narrative with the character stepping through the door.
