This project will introduce students to the world of metals, and give them the opportunity to manipulate a non ferrous metal through cutting and shaping. The project is based around a given design brief - creating a small metal gift for a zoo gift shop. There is visual examples to help guide the students, as well as assessment criteria and design based extension tasks, including designing a logo for the zoo, packaging for the gift and a shop front for the gift to be sold in. There is also a further extension design task which focuses on modelling and designing a 3D schematic map for their zoo.

This booklet breaks down each page of the NEA requirements in detail via a Product Design route, as well as offering a resource list of recommended literature, and sketchbook checklist to ensure students complete all work required for assessment. This booklet has been constructed around the EDUQAS A Level Design Technology specification, although it can be easily adjusted to suit any exam board. This resource is extremely helpful in allowing students to see exactly what content is required in each page of their NEA.

Logo Design Home Learning Project, 5 hours worth of lesson content. Fully differentiated tasks with self assessment criteria for each. Students are encouraged to investigate a brand of interest and re-design their logo. Project can be completed on digital design software or by hand. The project encourages iterative design and constant analysis and reflection of work to enhance outcomes, and create a logo suitable for their selected brand. Suitable for KS3 and KS4 students studying Art and Design and D&T.

This home learning project will give students the opportunity to think creatively about a place they have visited, and allow them to create a visual travel guide to help visitors find out more about their chosen location/event. PowerPoint is designed to be delivered as a 5 hour mini project. Designs can be created by hand or digitally. Tasks are fully differentiated with examples and self assessment criteria. A 5 hour home learning graphics project focused on the importance of recreating public transport signage, to visually remind people to stay as safe as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. Suitable for KS3 and KS4 students, studying art and design or technology. Complete with self assessment criteria for all tasks. Work can be produced by students digitally or by hand. A graphic design project focusing on producing a promotional poster for an upcoming school event. The resource has working examples of the project and includes task by task guidance on how to complete the project. Can be set as independent work or as part of a lesson by lesson scheme of work. The resources starts with examples of the graphic design fundamentals and builds on these through the use of all skills during the project. Work can be produced on Photoshop, photopea.com (free), Canva or Google Slides. Can be used for KS3 or as part of a skills based mini project for KS4 graphic design, through an art and design GCSE. 18-20 hours expected completion time. Can be extended and reduced according to need.
