This PowerPoint lesson on The Motor Effect covers the calculations of the motor force using the formula F=BIL, the use of the Left-hand rule for showing the direction of the motor force on a current carrying wire, and the detailed interaction of magnetic fields between a wire and permanent magnets. There is also a PDF with two examples of charged particles travelling into a magnetic field, for students to complete, that include the answers. This is the fourth (of 8) lessons in this section entitled “Magnetism and Electromagnetism” which is available as a bundle in our shop.
