CB8d lesson from the new Edexcel combined science GCSE (9-1) all about cellular respiration. The lesson includes aerobic respiration, anaerobic respiration and how to measure rates of respiration using a respirometer.

SB9b lesson from the new Edexcel Biology GCSE (9-1) all about energy transfer. The lesson includes plants getting energy from the sun, energy transfers through food chains, biomass calculations and pyramids of biomass. One task does involve the use of a worksheet from the ActiveTeach but could easily be swapped out for other available worksheets

CC17b lesson from the new edexcel combined science GCSE (9-1) all about the changing atmosphere. The lesson includes how oceans were formed, the effect of photosynthesis on gases in the atmosphere, evidence to support the evolution of photosynthetic organisms, the test for oxygen, a graph task and a six mark question.

CP1b lesson from the new Edexcel combined science GCSE (9-1) all about distance time graphs. The lesson includes the difference between average and instantaneous speed, how to calculate speed, hot to interpret and draw distance/time graphs and how to calculate speed from a distance time graph. One activity towards the end of the lesson requires the use of worksheets form the ActiveTeach but could easily be swapped out for other worksheets available.

The idea of the activity is that they need to get all the questions answered on their sheet working cooperatively with the rest of class, with each person only being able to contribute one answer to each worksheet. I also allowed them to ask me to answer one question but could also be done independently amongst the students.
