This code breaker practices the 4 types of operation applied to mixed numbers. The pupils answer the questions and then find the answer, placing the letter next to the correct answer number in the decoder. The decoder should reveal the answer to the joke - Why are seagulls called seagulls? Because if they flew over the bay they´d be bagels!

I produced this code breaker for a fun activity to help my Year 10 top set group revise for an exam. The questions cover: compound interest, LCM HCF, negative and fractional powers, gradient and y-intercept of linear graphs, parallel and perpendicular lines. The Christmas phase is Fröhliche Weihnachten, which means Merry Christmas in German.
