History lesson on how the Ancient Greeks governed themselves. Students are to recap on previous knowledge on how the Ancient Egyptians were governed before looking at Ancient Greek methods. Students will then look at the similarities and differences between todays governance and that of 2500 years ago. Students are then assigned a role within Greek society and it will be their job to share this information with classmates as they go around the room to investigate the other 7 roles. Worksheet is provided for students to complete during the last task.

A KS3 History lesson centred on Irish independence. Students will look at Ireland as part of Britain before the First World War before looking at Nationalist and Unionist divisions and the Easter Rising. Students will look at sources and answer questions throughout the lesson.

A KS3 History lesson on evacuation during the Second World War. This lesson can be broken into two one-hour lessons. The first looks at the reasons for evacuation looking at first hand accounts of the process. The second looks at the experiences during evacuation, again looking at sources. Students then go on to see Churchill’s impact post-war and the legacy that he left behind using source analysis to assist in this. Questions evaluating Churchill’s significance are present within the lesson.

KS3 History lesson introducing the concept of Total War using the Second World War as an example. Students will investigate: Roles of women Dig for Victory Air raid shelters Home Guard Blitz/Blackout Evacuation This lesson is best used as a carousel with students investigating each aspect of total war and how each would impact on life during the war.

KS3 History lesson centred on the introduction of the USA into the Second World War and the use of Nuclear weapons against Japan. Students have questions to answer regarding the use of nuclear weapons and the ending of the Second World War.

A KS4 AQA History lesson on the aims and policies of Kaiser Wilhelm II, leader of Germany before the First World War. The lesson is an independent study with information sheets accompanying a worksheet that needs to be printed and handed to the students to complete. The lesson concludes with an exam question.

A KS4 AQA History lesson on British foreign policy before the First World War. Students learn about Britain’s place in the world and how Britain had pursued a isolationist policy previously due to its empire. Changes to this policy are discussed with the use of sources and exam style questions.

KS4 AQA History lesson covering the two Moroccan Crises before the First World War (1905-06 & 1911) Students will look at information supported by sources about German ambition in North Africa and the response of the Triple Entente powers. The lesson ends with numerous questions on the topic and a GCSE style question for the students to complete.

A KS4 AQA History lesson on the Germany Schlieffen Plan, put into effect during the start of the First World War. Students will look at the creation of the Schlieffen Plan, with it’s creator Alfred von Schlieffen, as well as it’s strengths and weaknesses.
