I am a science teacher in Liverpool and have been head of department and senior leadership. I have put resources on here that I know will be beneficial to both individual teachers and middle managers. I'm aware of the time constraints and the resources are to reduce workload as well as inform.

I have put together a complete system of resources that will allow staff to easily record and monitor the required practical aspect of the new GCSE science that is replacing the old ISA coursework.
The resources include Whole Class Practical Tracker, Pupil Cover Sheets for Each of the Practicals and an 'On-The-Day' Practical sheets (again one for each practical, for the teacher to use in class during the practical to record the Apparatus and Technique (AT) skills that each pupil has to be competent with.
All of the resources compliment each other, use the key coding for assessment to reduce workload and make things easy.
This is just the instructions with some screen shots to see what and how it works.
I have mirrored the A'Level AQA Practical Assessment for the AQA GCSE, it just seemed logical so that the systems are similar.
The resources outline will be bundled together and can be purchased from my store page.
Enjoy.
If you get lists in different name formats - Joe Bloggs or Bloggs, Joe or Joe in one column and Bloggs in another column... and its sends you out of your mind as you want them all in the same format, then this little tool will do it for you.
Copy the list of manes in the format you don't want and use the tool to split or merge the names to your preferred format and then re-paste the list.
Dead easy and will save you tons of time not to mention your sanity.
18 science glossaries for different parts of the curriculum. They were originally designed for KS3 but can be used earlier or later depending on ability.
These can be used for reference or spelling homework or starts to topics.
Chemistry - Acids & Alkalis, Atoms & Elements, Compounds & Mixtures, Reactions of Metals and Simple Chemical Reactions.
Biology - Cells, Environment & Feeding Relationships, Food & Digestion, Plants & Photosynthesis, Reproduction, Sound and Hearing & Variation
Physics - Electric Circuits, Energy Resources, Gravity & Space, Space & Beyond, Particle Theory and Speeding Up
This spreadsheet can be used to collate the ISA grades for Core, Additional, Biology, Chemistry and Physics ISA's. The sheet will calculate the grade achieved from the 2015 AQA grade boundaries. It will also do a count to show how many pupils have achieved A* - G in each piece.
There is enough space for 250 pupils in the core and additional and 150 for the triple science.
The grade the pupil gets will RAG change colour with regard to what their target is.
Enjoy and I hope it helps.
If you like have a look at some of the other spreadsheet resources I have in my shop.
Bespoke resource that was originally written as a science project based curriculum for year 7. It could be used in primary for a project based activity that should take at least 10 hours to complete.
It covers ecology, food chains, fossils, predator prey relationships. classification and adaptations of animals for survival.
Lesson plans, PowerPoints, & worksheets are all included. There are some simple practicals (like making a fossil included).
My pupils loved this project.
This is my new GCSE grade 9-1 tracker. I have designed it so that it can be edited and changed so that it can be used in any subject. The sheet has space for 250 students to be housed.
This sheet is your one stop place to track your GCSE class data. The sheet are 12 custom tests (which you can change the raw score and label) and 3 summative tests - these are collated to give an average and an old grade (A*-G) and the new GCSE grading system (9-1) along side each other AND the level of progress. The sheet will calculate the %, grades (old and new), averages and levels of progress. The tests are grouped into three sections (4 tests in each) so - science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or English (Written, Literature, Creative) etc.
There are 3 Monitoring areas that you can record scores that go towards the whole school data - if this data is below the levels of progress then it will flag the possibility of intervention.
Parts of the sheet are protected so that staff can only add their raw data and not accidentally enter where there are formulas that generate supplementary data. The sheet comes with instruction and the password to unlock locked areas of the sheet should you wish.
There are screen shots on my page that are free to look at if you want to see what it can do and does before purchase.

These are traffic light cards designed by myself as ever other ones I could find were not good enough. These were originally for science but can be used for any subject.
I have attached the template PowerPoint which can be used with these. I have a set of 30 made and laminated that are a superb resource for starters, plenaries and in class assessment to show progress in the lesson. I have set it up fot 10 questions, but you can add more easily.
The two sheets are supposed to be printed back to back so that the colours match on both sides.
Here are 10 logic puzzles that can be used in science or maths. They can be used as starters, plenaries or homework.
The idea was for them to be used to get the students to think logically and work through to see the process in a fun way. The snooker ball may need to be explained to some students as they might not know the values of the coloured balls.
This easy chart will allow you to assess the risks with your practical and use the advice on the chart to plan accordingly.
Useful for all staff who teach science and who need to show how they have assessed the risk.
This AQA Additional Paper Analysis Tool will collate the 'mock' results and using the actual grade boundaries will give a grade for a) the whole paper, b) individual grades for the Biology, Chemistry and Physics aspects and c) will show the levels of progress the student has made.
This has been invaluable as a monitoring and intervention tool to target individuals and classes that are falling behind.
The screen shots to see how this looks when populated can be downloaded free from my page.

These are the CHEMISTRY Assessed/Required Practical student cover sheets that describe which AT (assessment techniques) that will be assessed for each practical. (I've included 7a&b and 10a&b - so there are 14 cover sheets in total).
The grading criteria is the one that is used in the official AQA Chemistry tracker and my own improved tracker that is based on the AQA tracker (you can download it free from my page).
The sheets are generic and in Word format so that you can amend or add your school crest on if needs be.

I have taken the free AQA Assessed Practical tracker and have improved it.
I have added the AT (Assessed Techniques) definitions and added which AT's are assessed for each practical .
These marks for the AT's are collated in an overview sheet that shows how each student has performed in each assessed practical but also an overview of how they are doing for each AT.
I've tested it and it seems bug free...
