Revision document produced by an A* English Literature A-level student containing key quotations, written analysis, critic quotes and production notes for EVERY character and theme in Twelfth Night. This will save a student from countless hours of researching which could instead be used for practising essay skills etc. In technical terms, this covers AO1, AO2, and AO5 and was designed with Paper 1 of the OCR English Literature A-level exam in mind, but may prove useful for other exam boards. The tables for each theme/character are split into three columns: AO1+2, AO5 (critics) and AO5 (production). The content in the second and third columns is designed to line up with the relevant quotations in the first column e.g. Viola’s “barful strife” would link to her being a “paragon of feminine virtue” (Cash) and is demonstrated by the Carroll 2012 production. It isn’t quite perfect, but this helped me to achieve an A* in my final exams and is an extremely useful springboard for students starting revision and making their own materials.
