Number bonds or pairs of numbers to ten are so important throughout the math curriculum and once students secure these facts, addition and subtraction, along with other arithmetic and basic operations will become accessible more easily.

Make learning about our continents engaging and fun with this hands on creative activity. Children can order the size of the continents, name them, add surrounding oceans and identify countries within in them. There is scope to add more facts in order to differentiate tasks.
This no prep activity consists of 7 circles with each of the continents inside them. Learners need to lay the circles on top of each other in size order to create the booklet and attach them with a split pin. Are you looking for fun resources with repeated addition and multiplication equations for your second grade learners? These quality arrays task cards focus on the 2x, 5x, 10x, 3x and 4x multiplication tables and representations as arrays. They are ideal for both the US and UK Math Curriculum to cover expected standards.
Children can often struggle with the concept and need plenty of practice. There are 20 no prep activity cards prompting students to look at each array and identify the matching repeated addition equation and multiplication equation that describes the array. Learners can then clip the answers on each card with pegs or paper clips for interventions, small group work and math centers, or they can record both equations in their notebook so they can see how repeated addition and multiplications can represent the same value.

Winter Add and Subtract bar model problem solving Task Cards for 2nd Grade Math
Do you find that your students can calculate simple addition and subtraction answers but struggle when it comes to problem solving? These high quality addition and subtraction task cards provide a great opportunity for students to apply their knowledge solving problems with a bar model representation. There are 20 no prep cards within the set, consisting of a mixture of two digit and three digit numbers, all set within a cute Winter theme.
The problems have been designed with the second grade curriculum in mind (or Year 3 UK) and contain word problems with a bar model representation. Bar models are often included in assessment materials and can prove to be a difficult concept for some learners. Children need to read and solve the problem on each of the cards, using key language to determine whether an addition or a subtraction calculation is needed. They can work out answers on a whiteboard and then record on the provided recording sheet, or ask them to show their working out in their notebooks. Have fun in the classroom this Christmas season with these Christmas comprehension and listening skills activity worksheets. If you’re a teacher or homeschooling parent looking for an activity in order to retell The Nativity Story, then my reading center activity is perfect for checking learner’s understanding of the key events, names and places that The Christmas Story tells of. The low prep activity has been designed to support the retell of The Christmas Story set to rhyme, which is available in my 123mispoppins stores, however, it would also be compatible with other versions of the Christmas Story.
There are 16 question cards with multiple choice answers that check the understanding of children’s ability to answer retrieval questions about the important Christian event. Youngsters can use mini pegs to clip the correct answer, write each answer in an answer sheet template provided or use them to test peers during whole class discussion.
