This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one as well as older students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? As said, these CVC cards have been designed to be printed double-sided on card to use with the ‘Function Machine’ (~instructions of how to make one of these included) to practise sounding out simple CVC (Phase 2 phonics) words - learners read each word then push the card into the top function machine slot and can see if they are correct when the picture pops out of the slot below. This activity has been designed to be a simple, interactive, predictable activity to promote independence and consolidate learning. This activity is ideal for individuals to be getting on with independently. How to use it? An adult needs to print these card (double-sided) onto card and and pre-cut the cards into x10 separate rectangle cards. The font used is Sassoon Infant Std - size 100. Each set of letters has been included on a line - to model how letters should look when positioned correctly on a line.
