This is to support AQA German A level, Hodder & Stoughton book Kapitel: Kunst und Architektur, page 74-77 .
It now also includes two 360 degree tours to introduce and practise architectural vocab.
I have used this in combination with semerson6’s resources https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/aqa-german-a-level-hodder-and-stoughton-book-kunst-und-architektur-11486144.
The first task is about the famous buildings mentioned in the “Zum Einstieg” box at the beginning of the chapter. The powerpoint “Berühmte Gebäude” contains pictures of each of the buildings, showing each one for a few seconds and then moving on to the next (it plays in a loop). While watching the presentation students should fill in the worksheet about the name, country and function of the building.
The web tasks ppt contains a link to an overview sheet of different styles that I found online. After going through the vocab with the students, they then use their devices to go to 360cities.net to look at a 360 degree view of the buildings (they are the same ones from the text on p. 75 which can be used as the answer sheet) and work out what style they represent.
My students enjoyed that task very much and I think it bring architecture a bit more to life.
Presenting new vocabulary, holiday activities in the past tense to go with Echo 2 chapter on Schwarzwald. Starter on time phrases, then presentation and some games to practise new vocabulary.
Logo 3 green, Nächstes Trimester, Ich muss pünktlich sein ect.
Powerpoint to introduce/practise, not very exciting but includes a crossword puzzle to print out
Two columns with pictures/phrases, students choose their own illness, remedy… and then have to guess which of them their partner chose. To practise speaking more the rule is that they have to start the sentence from the beginning and keep going until they use a phrase their partner hasn’t chosen. Similar to battleships but with a longer sentence.
A digital + paper escape room aimed at GCSE German students, revising the topics of hobbies and family.
It is mainly a digital activity to be played in teams but requires 3 pages to be printed out (cutting out of cards optional).
The answers are in the download.
The activity can be adapted into other languages or shortened by clicking “reuse this genially” at the bottom.
<p>The word weil wears a big boot that kicks the verb to the end of the sentence. An exercize on recognising verbs, then some demonstrations of the boot and then some sentences for the students to work out themselves.</p>
A game for the first lesson in a new group or as recap of first few chapters of book. This is an example of 4 sentences in German, one of which is a lie. Every student writes 4 sentence about themselves, and then go around getting other people to guess which one is a lie.

Are you teaching the new AQA GCSE with Stimmt or the new AS Level with Hodder/Dynamic learning? Do you use Stimmt 1?

If you don't use memrise yet, you definitely need to have a look at it.

<p>An activity for a first lesson with a class. My favourite color, number ect with a twist. Good to get to know the class and revize word endings and word order. First slide is an example, second slide is vocab and third slide the worksheet which the students copy and fill in the gaps. Same activity in French and German. Have corrected some of the mistakes, if you find more, please let me know!</p>
Two versions of battleship, one easier with words, one harder, with pictures. To practize giving opinions on holidays, Ich war in Spanien, es war langweilig.
