This is a tarsia puzzle to practise vocab from chapter 4 in Stimmt 1 (school). A tarsia consists of puzzle pieces that the students cut out and then match words to form a certain shape (ideally students don’t know what shape that is). They will quickly realise their mistakes if the puzzle won’t fit together. Great activity for Friday afternoons, cover lessons or end of term. This download includes: sheets for students with jumbled up puzzle pieces, an answer sheet for the teacher in list form and one showing the shape. If the print quality of the powerpoint is not good enough, use the attached pdf version.

Meilensteine der Architektur - AS level architecture with VR Tour

This is to support AQA German A level, Hodder & Stoughton book Kapitel: Kunst und Architektur, page 74-77 . It now also includes two 360 degree tours to introduce and practise architectural vocab. I have used this in combination with semerson6’s resources https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/aqa-german-a-level-hodder-and-stoughton-book-kunst-und-architektur-11486144. The first task is about the famous buildings mentioned in the “Zum Einstieg” box at the beginning of the chapter. The powerpoint “Berühmte Gebäude” contains pictures of each of the buildings, showing each one for a few seconds and then moving on to the next (it plays in a loop). While watching the presentation students should fill in the worksheet about the name, country and function of the building. The web tasks ppt contains a link to an overview sheet of different styles that I found online. After going through the vocab with the students, they then use their devices to go to 360cities.net to look at a 360 degree view of the buildings (they are the same ones from the text on p. 75 which can be used as the answer sheet) and work out what style they represent. My students enjoyed that task very much and I think it bring architecture a bit more to life.
