A set of PPT resources which contain a collection of nursery rhymes and meet the following curriculum objectives: • Use and understand recently introduced vocabulary during discussions about stories, non-fiction, rhymes and poems and during role-play. (EYFS) • learning to appreciate rhymes and poems, and to recite some by heart (Year 1) The set features sixteen well-known nursery rhymes with original colour illustrations. The illustrations enable the children to discuss aspects of the rhymes and reinforce understanding. Three PPTs are included: • PPT 1: Nursery Rhyme Collection. Sixteen nursery rhymes with words and colour illustrations. The words are useful for teacher reference and the engaging illustrations promote engagement. • PPT 2: Recite the Rhyme. This PPT features illustrations and titles only and challenges students to recite the rhyme. • PPT 3: Guess the rhyme. This PPT is designed for when students have developed familiarity with nursery rhymes. It features illustrations of nursery rhymes and challenges students to guess the nursery rhyme using picture cues. This useful resource can be used time and time again to develop and reinforce children’s understanding of nursery rhymes.
